@cryoshines@Nomadhidinghere@BNightengale The proposed gap between the floor and cap seems larger than other sports. 30 teams spend $245M that’s $7.35B, 30 teams spend $171M that’s $5.13B. Are the owners saying $7B is 50% of the revenue or $5B is?
@aaronsnearly@dwest___@Michael_Cerami You’re right. Not expecting him to sign an early extension. I’d still trade for him for the run this year and hope that pitching in Wrigley during division chase and playoffs gives Cubs an edge in signing him if the offer is competitive.
@dwest___@Michael_Cerami Im well aware, that’s the reason he will be gettable at the trade deadline. Then you offer him 6 years 300mil from the money saved listed above.
@dwest___@Michael_Cerami Trade for Skubal at the deadline with a package centered around Shaw and Rojas.
Alcantara takes RF next year.
Rotation for 2027 Skubal, Horton, Steele, Cabrera, Assad.
Assuming there’s a 2027 season
@KotchFF@MarcLobliner Essentially what it is. What makes it hard is the loading posts are extended out in front of the handles farther than a traditional Tbar row. You get less leverage so it makes weights feel “heavier”. Only benefit is it saves you from carrying over more plates for the same load
@goaton5@ilannfl18 The only replacements we’ve really seen so far are for guys that played well last year. Bryant replaces Byard, I’ll take Bryant over the next 3 years but Byard was all pro last year. Bush replace Edmunds, probably an upgrade but Edmunds had a decent year when he was on the field
@_JimmyMac_@NewAdvntures@HGrahamNFL I would suggest a 2 day period before the legal tampering that trades could be finalized. No trades during legal tampering and the following 48hrs.
@waleedb23@adamrank@Chicago_NFL I think the Ozzie injury makes it more likely that he does get traded. Adding a LT to the long list of defensive needs makes this offseason tricky, have to free up money.
@BallParkBuzz@FootballRef27 Breaking even or a slight profit is reasonable. Nobody will buy a biz guaranteed to lose money, so if that’s needed to win, it tanks the value of the franchises. You can have a billion dollars, lose 100mil/yr, still be outspent by LA 2 to 1, never win and be out of $ in a decade.
@ucsu94@TroyVan11@MattWi77iams Yeah, I just don’t see an easy path to fixing the system in MLB. Too far down the path on individual tv deals, would be very hard to get the teams at the top to agree to changing.
@DustinNosler@CanadianJohn3 It’s the fault of the revenue system that MLB set up. The bottom 15 teams would have to lose money every year to still be outspent 2 to 1 by the Dodgers. It’s not sustainable. MLB desperately needs reform.
