Meet the #lakedistrict’s newest hero!! They’re not an ‘influencer’ but a “BINFLUNCER”! 🗑️🎥⬇️

SPREAD THE WORD! 🙏 Our beloved Lakeland needs all the help it can get from irresponsible “fly camping” and litter which has become endemic in many places 💔😢
"I'm not an 'influencer. I'm a
BINFLUENCER!"🗑️🎥 Premier of my latest project will end a talk I'm doing at the Keswick Alhambra 7.30pm Fri 24th🎟️⬇️

A short public information feature about
"fly camping" & litter issues in the #lakedistrict
Narrated by BBC Cumbria's Helen Millican and voiced by a local young lad, I hope it helps raise awareness and leads to folk to care about the environment.
Hopefully see you there!
Should be a good evening - especially so as the cinema has a new screen installed too!
🔔IT’S BACK!!!🔔📺My critically acclaimed and two time nominee Royal Television Society Awards (Broadcast Factual & Cinematography) film ‘Cumbria’s Red Squirrels’ 🐿️🎥 9pm Weds 28th May on BBC Four 👍#lakedistrict#conservation#redsquirrel#nature
I’m off to attend the Royal Television Society Awards in Newcastle tomorrow night where my recent critically acclaimed BBC film ‘Cumbria’s Red Squirrels’ is shortlisted for Factual Broadcast and Cinematography!!😊🤞🐿️🎥🏆 #nature#lakedistrct
Worth checking out Keswick’s latest supping establishment! 👍 Some nice locally produced ales on bar plus kegs (if ya like pasteurised stuff but tastes better than PubCo/mass produced crap) and lovely staff! 🍺 #lakedistrict#pub Prices are fair for the tourist town too! 😊 I tried some of the keg stuff.
It was good! But obviously not as full of flavour as a ‘living fresh’ ale.
Still nice though! 👍
A rare day off work for me and hooking up with Keswickian pals who insisted they buy me beers for the day to wind down with my work after a busy few weeks 🎥🥹🙏🙏
“Guard our precious Lake District, be vigilant and prevent exploitation by those who only want to make money.” A. Harry Griffin 1911-2004
Overtourism in the #lakedistrict is a hot issue of late 😢 Affecting local communities that hang on despite the proliferation of holiday lets/second homes and #nature
I find it astonishing that Cumbria Tourism support plans for a development that’ll cause harm to the environment and be of no benefit to locals on many levels 🤯😢
It’ll benefit a few of course 💵💵💵💵
Harry Griffin was right.

Must be the best tasting and well kept pint of Tinderbox by @FellBrewery I’ve ever had today at Craft Beer Keswick! 😋🍺 It’s lethal if ya not canny but I enjoyed my pint of local ale. #lakedistrict#realale#provenance
Rosey cheeks, happy faces & souls…I took a couple of friends up High Cup to its “nick” today. Home turf for me. But it was LOVELY to see their faces marvelling at such an amazing geological and geographical place ❤️😊⛰️ And we finished the day off at @Duftonpub 🍺 #cumbria
Andrew Nichol's tribute film will be shown at the upcoming Wainwright event at St Mary's Church, Bolton-On-Swale, this Saturday. I tear up every time I watch it. Here is a new clip from the film... https://t.co/k43Qarlpk2
My mind is blown! 🤯 It still keeps on going!! A nice lady sent me this pic. I’m told my latest #lakedistrict film about our native #redsquirrel was in the national papers AGAIN last weekend! 😮🐿️🎥📺 I’ve been asked to do a sequel too! 🤣🤣🤣 We’ll see…

It's an excellent way to support an indie filmmaker like Terry, so he can continue to make such inspiring films

From an initial 90k objections Zip World finally have their foot within the #lakedistrict after “behind the scenes” failed attempts re zipwires over Thirlmere and in Glenridding over the last decade. I know NOT ONE local or business in Langdale that supported this attraction 😢
“Zip World Lakes” I suspect despite their ‘goodwill gestures’ and ‘undefined aspirations’ will see this long term as a stepping stone to summat more 💵 https://t.co/AHuasSVfVk
All at the expense of what?
Elterwater and Langdale already faces HUGE challenges within the UNESCO World Heritage Site from overtourism, infrastructure, nature and habitats and much more besides 😢
I find it interesting that committee members of the Lake District National Park Authority who initially opposed the plans then were split 50:50 the other day only for the chair to cast the deciding vote.
Low pay jobs for whatever locals can afford to live near or to Langdale, local opposition plus from afar along with a UNESCO affiliated body politely warning of harm within such an area…
Go figure folks! 🙄😢
Lakeland is increasingly becoming a theme park as opposed to a ‘national park’ driven by money with no care for nature, habitats, communities, historic infrastructure and heritage.
That’s my personal view at least 🤣
But it’s sad. And ultimately a poor decision with no genuine benefit for the many but only a few and in a totally inappropriate place 🤔😢
I’ll be at @gatherennerdale this Saturday blethering and showing my latest acclaimed #lakedistrict film ‘Cumbrian Red’ 😊🐿️🎥 It’s a fabulous small local community owned venue. 7pm and info here: https://t.co/WA8gTAYqTT #redsquirrel#nature
My last BIG SCREEN event of my latest acclaimed #lakedistrict film ‘Cumbrian Red’ where I’ll be on stage for a Q&A 🐿️🎥🍿 7PM WEDS 27th MARCH 🎟️👉 https://t.co/QrhFhXgkrl
It’s filling up now so book quick!
@WestmorlandReds will be around too 👍🐿️ #nature#film#environment
@ProgRockGrandad Seen them in 1971 (as a 16 year old) at Henry's Blues House in Birmingham above the Crown pub (still there now closed) arguably the loudest concert I've ever been to. 🤟 Awesome band.
I think the folk at @CumberlandCoun and property developer Mr Dobie need to have a long hard look in the mirror ignoring local voices! 🌳🐿️ #nature#redsquirrel#protest I’d like to know why so many Tree Preservation Orders were removed and an out of date nature report was used in planning approval for “luxury apartments” 🤔🤔
It strikes me that in some parts of Cumbria (let alone afar) money matters more than local voices and wildlife. That includes a legally protected species! A national favourite! 😢🐿️
