I went to a Dolphins game and a Marlins game this year. 2 Bud lights at Marlins, $32. 1 Bud at Dolphins, $12.

They (NBA players) are literally part owners/have stakes with their teams/leagues. That’s a whole different ballgame pun intended.

I never said they would all go to small market teams, I said small market teams HAVE SPENT in the past.. bringing big name players drives fans into the seats, compounding profits and allows owners to reinvest in their product.

They did try to extend a player… he just ended up with the WORST charges you can possible have as a professional athlete. I feel that will hinder the Rays from spending real money for years.

They sold the players after one season when they didn’t produce. Promised the fans everything, ran away at first sight of trouble

@dudeman2266 @YANGS1K @JeffPassan 2/2 just decimated the team after the first season that they didn’t produce… it can and has happened. There was/is NOTHING preventing owners from incentivizing the fans to then rug pull AFTER they collected payments for season tickets, concessions, jerseys, etc.

Then, instead of giving those teams one more year, they decimated them and “tried to rebuild”. The excitement is there when you have players worth watching

You’re forced to pay, if you don’t wanna pay after a year or two of getting hit with the competitive tax, fuck it. Make the owners SELL THE TEAM. Or, have a plan and STICK TO IT.
