2k and Denuvo work together to brick your game, requiring an always online connection:
Recent reports confirm that Denuvo Anti-Tamper, in partnership with 2K Games, has introduced a new restriction in several titles including NBA 2K25, NBA 2K26, and Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
These games now use a fixed offline authorization token that expires after roughly 14 days, regardless of whether your hardware or operating system has changed.
Once the timer runs out, the game will not launch until you reconnect to the internet and get a fresh token.
This is stricter than earlier versions of Denuvo, which only required an online connection after significant system alterations.
The requirement is not clearly disclosed on Steam store pages, in the EULA, or at the time of purchase, meaning many buyers were unaware they would need periodic internet access even for single-player modes.
When Steam was released video game piracy went down massively.
When Spotify was released music piracy went down massively.
Piracy is and will always be a service issue. Provide people a legal, convenient, accessible alternative if you don't want them to pirate.
@TohsakaRinVIII Didn't need to be made, makes the setting actively worse by existing, and the anime adaption is absolutely gorgeous? Yeah that checks out
People always rag on unicorn for having no impact on the U.C Timeline
what they don't recognize or forget is that Unicorn is also about possibility there's no guarantee that opening Laplace's box will change anything but Even so as long as there's a chance they will...
With Denuvo removed Resident Evil requiem now has offline play and gets a small boost in performance, using about 1GB less vram.
If I pay for a product shouldn't I receive the best version of it?
We really live in a world where you need to pirate and crack games we own to have a better experience and its total bullshit.
I'm deeply sorry to my brethren to have to be the one to say this but you aren't gonna expand people's mecha tastes by only ever recommending them to watch Tomino or Sunrise mecha.
You GOTTA branch out yourselves before you start telling people how get into this stuff.
