Wang Junming is 25 years old. He goes to bed before 8pm, needs help with every basic task, and his family still call him baby. He is 66 centimetres tall, the size of a one-year-old child.

Wang, from Hunan Province in central China, was diagnosed this February with pituitary hormone deficiency, a condition in which the pituitary gland fails to produce the hormones that control growth and metabolism.

His family had struggled to identify or afford treatment for years. His father worked as a construction worker on a low income.

For most of Wang's life, no doctor had given them a name for what was happening.

Three years after Wang was born, his parents had his younger sister Xiaoling.

When Xiaoling was in elementary school, their mother was diagnosed with terminal cancer.

Until then Xiaoling had been distant from her brother, but the diagnosis changed everything.

She decided to stay home after graduating from nursing school rather than move to the city, taking a job at a local clinic in Changsha so she could remain close.

In 2002, Charles J. Bishop, a high school student, was influenced by the tragic events of September 11th and sought to replicate the attack. On January 5th, at approximately 5 PM, Bishop was left alone by his flight instructor to perform a routine preflight inspection. Seizing the moment, he started the plane’s engine and took off without authorization.

Bishop then deliberately crashed the aircraft into the Bank of America tower in Tampa, Florida, striking between the 28th and 29th floors of the 42-story building. Fortunately, no one else was harmed in the incident, and Bishop was the only casualty.

In a suicide note, Bishop expressed his admiration for Osama bin Laden, writing, "I have prepared this statement in regards to the acts I am about to commit. First of all, Osama bin Laden is absolutely justified in the terror he has caused on 9-11. He has brought a mighty nation to its knees! God blesses him and the others who helped make September 11th happen."

Police catch up with a hit and run suspect waiting at McDonald's in the drive thru. From burgers to jail in the blink of an eye.

​ Kent Police Department officers located a Cadillac Escalade tied to a recent hit-and-run. The driver, identified as Justin, was spotted ordering food at a McDonald's drive-thru. Officers instructed him to park the vehicle so they could conduct an investigation. While Justin initially complied and exited the SUV, the interaction quickly escalated.

​Justin repeatedly ignored commands to keep his hands out of his pockets and attempted to walk away from officers, claiming his son was inside the restaurant. After being informed he was under arrest for obstruction, Justin pulled away as an officer attempted to secure his arms.

​Despite multiple warnings that he would be tased, Justin continued to resist. Officers took him down to the pavement with some questionable strikes to gain compliance before successfully securing him in handcuffs.

​Following the arrest, Justin was asked if he would take a field sobriety test and he declined. He was informed that a warrant was going to be issued to take a blood sample. He was subsequently transported and booked into the Kent Jail.

​Justin faces multiple charges, including:

​Driving Under the Influence (DUI)

​Resisting Arrest

​Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer

​Following his booking, officers did get the search warrant to obtain a blood sample and determine his exact blood-alcohol concentration (BAC) at the time of the incident was above the legal limit.

According to a Boston Globe article chronicling the feat, a signal was tooted from a towboat, and Houdini went overboard into the chilly waters below.

“There is always the possibility that I will be unable to free myself, as one never can tell what will happen to a lock,” Houdini told the newspaper.

“However, I am a good swimmer, have confidence in myself, and I hope to perform this feat successfully.”

The Globe estimated some 20,000 spectators gathered to see Houdini’s leap, including the mayors of Boston and Cambridge. They waited 40 seconds for the magician to resurface, which he did with the shackles in his hands.
