Stop spending our money on a flawed school proposal for Woodhatch Place! You have already wasted £2.4 million on fees,in addition to £60 million on the site
@ReigateRabbit This proposal will cause irreversible harm to Reigate, and all residents should bombard SCC and Chief Exec with emails to insist they withdraw this unnecessary application. No more taxpayers money down the drain!
@CTMorris23@SurreyCouncil@kate45248694@reigatebanstead Hopefully after the May elections next year, SCC will have a new leader and cabinet that understand their duties to listen to the community before wasting millions of Surrey taxpayers’ money
@ReigateRabbit In answer to your question the SCC spend to end of September was £2,42 million purely on Woodhatch Place school planning matters. This expenditure will continue unless stopped.
@ReigateRabbit Maybe the new Chief Exec has established the competency levels of certain employees and has decided that it is appropriate to take stock and reconsider the background for embarking on a very expensive flawed proposal.
Well done to The Reigate Business Guild for objecting to the RPS relocation to Woodhatch Place. SCC have a duty to listen to the community it represents and act accordingly.
A ‘brownfield’ development opportunity exists at The Priory by replacing 1950’s buildings with a 21st century DfE compliant school. SCC however believe it is better to destroy the historic RBBC protected garden and woodland at Woodhatch Place. Please oppose this stupidity.
@GaryerEve@stopthemove_rp If SCC act in accordance with their fiduciary duties to residents they should undertake a financial reappraisal of the options available and proceed with the most cost effective solution - The Priory!
ISG who was SCC’s chosen contractor to design and build the new school at Woodhatch Place have gone bust! I guess the £1 m plus they have been paid to date is down the drain!
There are interesting letters of objection to RPS relocation on RBBC,s planning portal. Worth the time to read and if you haven’t made representations, there is still time.
SCC -‘Surrey is home to amazing wildlife and beautiful landscapes. This nature is vital in contributing to our health, well-being, and sense of place. Like the rest of the UK, Surrey's nature needs our help to maintain and build its biodiversity’. Agreed,so abort RPS relocation.
