The Penguins extend our deepest condolences to the Gaudreau family on the passing of Johnny and his brother, Matthew, whose lives were taken far too soon.
Johnny played each game with joy and his love for the game of hockey was felt by all those who watched.
Our hearts are with the Gaudreau family, their friends, and everyone who was fortunate enough to have known him on and off the ice.
What a pathetic loss for the Penguins. To get zero points out of this game is unbelievable. Penguins are just as pathetic as the Devils. Just finding ways to lose.

That ESPN hockey theme song just gave me chills it took me back to being in my basement watching Wednesday night hockey on full blast eating goldfish and drinking gatorade as a kid, just completely oblivious to how much pain and agony was to come with the reality of growing up
It’s with a very heavy heart that we share the news that goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks passed away last night at the age of 24.
We are heartbroken. Please keep his family in your thoughts and prayers.
Rest in peace, Kivi.
