I think this is what happens when young women are told that Old Money is an aesthetic you can buy through clothes, rather than a set of rigid and unspoken social codes that you instinctually understand.
It's also a result of the current nonsense that's been going around for years about "high-value women" or "high-value men" where "high-value" is a euphemism for how much money they have. There's no understanding that people are not their net worth.
Once women understand that a man will bring them to the level he's at in his life—whether that's up or down—they'll recognize the importance of choosing wisely.
As someone who’s currently struggling with this, it’s the feeling of being behind the version of you that you thought you’d be at this point. Sometimes we’re not comparing ourselves to anyone but the idea of who we thought we’d be at a certain “age” or point in life.
Honestly, If you knew how difficult and how long it took some people to recover their peace of mind and happiness, you'd understand why they shut all doors at any slight discovery of toxicity, and also why they can be so picky about who they allow in their lives.
I’m very comfortable with confrontation because I know how it pays off.
Because no matter how hard you try to save face and sweep things under the rug, eventually it explodes. Always. And it's so much worse.
I’ve been trying to figure out how to articulate it, but yeah, this. It’s such a passive way to get through life, and personally, I think it’s the worst form of people pleasing
I actually really dislike non-confrontational people because of their lack of good communication skills and how manipulative they can be. They’ll tell you they’re not confrontational because they don’t like wahala but it’s a big lie. They’re cowards who don’t like to face issues

I know some of you don’t want to hear it because you created this narrative that it’s easier to just give up & accept your situation but I’ll say it anyway just in case.
You always, ALWAYS have the power to create the reality you see fit no matter what. You just have to ask.
