@thosethatcan My eldest went to Sheffield Hallam. Great city. After she graduated she stayed for 2 more years because she loved living there.

@thosethatcan Minimum loan did not cover rent in or out of halls. We subsidised by about £1200 per year. We also gave them £250 a month for food etc. They worked when they could. Not to mention money for deposits etc. It was doable but stressful.

@DeputyGrocott I once interviewed potential trainee teachers and when I asked, "Why do you want to be a primary teacher?", one replied, "It's something to fall back on". They didn't get a place.

@bennewmark 33 years, spent a couple of years as SLT but then went back into the classroom full time. I get into work at 7am to get stuff done, leave at about 4 but work for about an hour each evening.
