Chief Negotiator of the India–Maldives Free Trade Agreement (IMFTA), Sh. Ujjwal Kumar Ghosh paid a courtesy call on Minister @em_saeed today.

Thilafushi Port Project Phase I is progressing steadily, supporting the development of a modern and efficient port facility that will strengthen national logistics and maritime services.

The project continues to move forward in line with the planned construction. Once completed, the port will enhance cargo handling capacity, improve operational efficiency, and support the growing demands of trade and economic development in the Maldives.

Today, I chaired the 25th Business Council meeting, where, together with council members, we reviewed the latest developments in the land transport sector under the Greater Malé Transport and Mobility Office. We presented a series of reforms aimed at delivering meaningful improvements through the Greater Malé Mobility Framework.
His Excellency President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu has placed urgent emphasis on addressing traffic congestion in the Greater Malé Area as a national priority. In line with this direction, the Greater Malé Area will be designated as a Registration Control Zone, with implementation carried out through a whole-of-government approach in close coordination with all relevant agencies to deliver sustainable and effective mobility solutions.
