Canadians have sent 240,000 postcards to senators urging them to oppose Liberal Bill C-9.
Until this morning, the Senate was hiding these postcards in a warehouse in Gatineau. This morning, they were moved to a Senate room, but they still aren't being delivered to senators.
The reason most Canadians don't seem to care about the economy is because just over 25% of employed work for the government and the 55+ age group which are the only demographics to have gained employment rates have also the highest percentile of defined benefits pension plan.
So we have a socioeconomic situation where over half don't have any financial interest in increasing productivity or care for the well being of the private sector but tell future generations to just lift their elbows a little higher as they vote to replace them with foreigners.
@JohnIbbitson: Central Canadian elites as much to blame for Alberta’s separatist movement as anyone else 'While sovereigntist sentiment in Quebec has long been accommodated, Western alienation is treated with who-do-they-think-they-are condescension.' https://t.co/fnUwsU2Wjz
Just read a post saying the CPC should get a new leader because the media will never give Pierre a fair shake. MSM hated Harper, Scheer, O'Toole & now Pierre. The leader's not the problem. The media is, as so nicely demonstrated by @anniedufour99 yesterday.
I think there is something I don't understand about Canada anymore.
Let's say a Canadian makes $100K.
They pay $35,000 in taxes.
then take home $65,000.
They go buy clothes, a car, or eat out, and pay another 15%.
Now this broke Canadian has something left; he wants to save something, and then if he is lucky and makes some money, he will pay capital gains tax.
Despite paying his all to the government,
he is not allowed to give his opinion.
He is not allowed to post his honest take on this country on social media.
He is not allowed to defend himself if someone breaks onto his property.
He is not allowed to decide what gender his child is. 😂
He is not even allowed to drink booze after all this because our liquor is most expensive in entire G-7.
If journalists rode the govt. as hard as they do the opposition about the status of a recession perhaps the govt. would work harder to avoid one. The constant excuse making for Carney will not increase transparency or accountability and it will not bring about better governance.
So let me get this straight...
Canada is in a recession—the only G7 country currently in one. Unemployment is up. Inflation is rising. Food insecurity is at a record high.
Yet the highest proportion of Canadians since 2017 now say the country is on the right track.
That's either a remarkable display of optimism—or a sign that many Canadians aren't getting the full economic story from the news they consume.
Three of Mark Carney’s flight catering bills could feed a family for a decade.
This Liberal Prime Minister spent $524,000 in taxpayer money on airplane food since last year.
Call for this costly spending to end: https://t.co/rTSx5U04VJ
No wonder Carney doesn’t care about grocery prices.
He’s racking up big catering orders and sticking taxpayers with the bill!
All while working Canadians are forced to cut back.
It is really hard to imagine what anyone can possibly eat for $200K
It is not hard to see this as a slap in the face to every family who cannot afford groceries.
Steven Guilbeault is leaving federal politics, and not a moment too soon.
He may go down as one of the ministers who most aggressively weaponized science, funding questionable research groups like the Canadian Climate Institute and other pet projects to reinforce a single “climate crisis” narrative.
Anyone claiming Guilbeault truly believed in science is fooling themselves. He treated science like a buffet — picking only what supported his agenda. That’s not science.
He even misquoted me in the House of Commons, attributing claims to me that I have never said or published. That alone tells you everything you need to know about how evidence and dissent were handled under his watch.
Good riddance.
When the floor crossers happened.
Everyone attacked Pierre.
Gladu, just admitted that the Liberals offer money to Liberal ridings,
IF THEY CROSS THE FLOOR.
Unconstitutional madness.
And yet, they still attacked Pierre’s leadership.
Fast forward to today:
14 cowardly Liberal MPs, sign a letter against Carney,
The media protects them,
No names.
One MP, quits as a minister.
And now, he may leave the Liberal caucus altogether.
So my question is:
WHEN WILL MEDIA ATTACK CARNEY’S LEADERSHIP?
14 unhappy MPs.
One quitting.
A province that wants to separate.
It’s a disaster.

"Imagine any private media outlet pulling a stunt like this while claiming journalistic integrity. Advertisers would flee. Public trust would collapse. Executives would face consequences. Yet the CBC operates with the security of guaranteed taxpayer funding regardless of performance or conduct. That protection has created an environment where accountability appears optional."
