If you're a fan of the 'Culture' series by Iain M. Banks (1954-2013) -- as I've been for over 30 years -- I highly recommend this book of critical analysis by Simone Caroti, published in 2015.

It covers all 10 books, including Banks' life, influences, philosophy, politics, ethics, plots, characters, and literary style. Well-researched, intellectually serious, and engaging.

Many readers consider Banks' 'Culture' the only future vision of a human civilization that they'd actually want to live in. A utopia worth fighting for. I agree.

If you want to feel inspired, read the Culture novels. If you really want to understand them, read Caroti's analysis.

(Worth noting that @elonmusk was deeply inspired by Banks, both in terms of space exploration, and in terms of the 'neural lace' computational interfaces woven throughout the brains of Culture citizens, which inspired @neuralink. For example, two of the @SpaceX autonomous spaceport drone ships (ASDS) were named after Culture novel ships -- the 'Just Read the Instructions' and 'Of Course I Still Love You'. And of course the @Grimezsz song 'Player of Games' (2021) was a direct reference to the Culture novel 'The Player of Games' (1988).)
