@DanielBerglind Cross section with ultrasound measurement is not considered a direct measurement since water (creatine) can increase CSA and give a false positive effect. That’s why creatine is so good at increasing lean body mass, but when measuring with MRI, it’s pretty much useless

both dosage groups showed significant increases, with no statistically significant difference between them:
- Doses ≤5 g/day: WMD: 0.77 kg (95% CI: 0.46 to 1.08, p < 0.001)
- Doses >5 g/day: WMD: 0.89 kg (95% CI: 0.49 to 1.29, p < 0.001)

I think the MPS part is not that accurate… MPS decreases by quite a bit..
@martykendall2 If the calorie intake was real in this dataset, there was no global obesity epidemic. Most countries in this dataset report to eat less than 2,000 kcal/day. There are many research papers showing how people are pretty bad at reporting how much they eat, even with MFP/other apps.
@martykendall2 Overall, I would argue that being so absolute about protein intake and kidney damage is probably not accurate based on the current research.
The statement should probably be: higher protein intake is *probably* not detrimental for healthy young adults in the *short term*.

3. I don't think it's relevant practically or beneficial to eat such a high amount of protein daily.
