Wonderful to attend the @RAEngNews#INWED Leadership Lunch 2025. The key takeaways were: be bold in initiating conversations & connections, nurture connections, use the power of engineering to build a strong network & do not be afraid to be judged. #INWED25#TogetherWeEngineer
Thank you to everyone that came to see us @ExRdFestival@imperialcollege. We broke our previous record, with well over a 1,000 people testing #Kiacrete this weekend. All of the members of the @ReSusInfra & @RoboAMLab have worked very hard this weekend with highlights below.
We had a great day sharing the latest #Kiacrete developments with the public @ExRdFestival@imperialcollege. We had over 500 people testing Kiacrete and look forward to many more tomorrow. Many thanks to the members of the @ReSusInfra and @RoboAMLab.
Thank you @CIHTUK@CIHTEastMids for inviting me to speak at your 2025 conference on #ClimateAction: Building Resilience for an Uncertain Future. Truly enjoyed the panel discussions and thank you all for showing so much interest in #Kiacrete https://t.co/0vBYmrhO9T
Day 2 @UKConcreteShow was another busy day. I enjoyed presenting at the spotlight session & sharing recent #Kiacrete developments. Thank you @AndriusPatapas, @ReSusInfra & @craigb6 for making this event a success. Looking forward to following up on new discussions & next events.
We've had a great first day @UKConcreteShow with 2D Nano, @AndriusPatapas and @ReSusInfra at stand D34. Lots of good discussions & interest in graphene enhanced concrete & our puddle-free #Kiacrete pavement. Looking forward to day 2 & delivering a spotlight session talk tomorrow.
What a great 2024 throwback - five early-career engineers received the RAEng Engineers Trust Young Engineer of the Year award in July. The overall winner @AlaleaKia received the Sir George Macfarlane Medal for her work with @ReSusInfra: https://t.co/xGufwXyEDg #RAEngAwards
We had a fantastic end of the year celebration 🎄❄️☃️🍕🍝with our research groups this evening. Thank you all for your hard work this year and looking forward to 2025!
Action packed day at #HighwaysUK! Great to see many familiar faces and meet new people. Lots of great interactions and questions during my talk. It was such a privilege to be invited to give a talk at @HWYSUK and thank you for inviting me to talk again next year!
In the latest episode of @NakedScientists podcast, @AlaleaKia and other engineers discuss innovative solutions to climate change. She talks about developing Kiacrete, a permeable concrete that fights flooding and reduces emissions. Listen here: https://t.co/LJqdspEVKc
Great to be interviewed among prominent scientists & engineers🧑🔬👷this week @NakedScientists. Really enjoyed discussing the different ways engineers are tackling the climate crisis & how our @ReSusInfra puddle-free pavement research can play a part in addressing this challenge.

We presented a poster & paper on our work with @OkMatar, @Petit_Group, @AndriusPatapas & @JsnStafford at the IOM3’s 43rd Cement & Concrete Science Conference at @QUBelfast. Alperen's presentation received significant interest & we look forward to presenting more in the future.
It was great to attend the 16th Int. Con. on Applied Energy in Niigata, Japan 🇯🇵 and share ideas with like minded researchers in this field. We presented two papers on our work. It was a fantastic experience immersing ourselves in Japanese culture 🎌🎎🍱🍣 for a couple of days.
Congratulations to #OurImperial researchers and one of our talented alumnus on being awarded top honours by @RAEngNews in their 2024 prize awards! 🎉
Well done to Professor Jason Hallett, Dr Alalea Kia and Dr Ruben Doyle ✨ https://t.co/5OrDKWxktD
Congratulations all 🏆 and to @AlaleaKia on winning the Sir George Macfarlane Medal & Young Engineer of the Year award 2024 for developing permeable pavement Kiacrete, to mitigate the devastating impact of urban flooding from stormwater
