How bizarre going from waiting in traffic to being completely free in the back country. Thinking of selling my car and trading it for a backpack for the rest of my life. 🏕️⛰️
10/10 enthusiasm. Questionable technique. 😂 My toddler loves helping clean the family’s @earthrunners sandals and I love that he is developing valuable skills! ✨
We all have our favorite reasons why we love to garden… but saving money on produce, is definitely not one of them 🥲🍅🌶️ these are ingredients for some $40 salsa right here lol
There’s more happening in the forest air than just that “fresh tree smell.” 🌲
Trees release aromatic compounds often referred to as phytoncides, including monoterpenes like alpha-pinene and beta-pinene. Research has been exploring how exposure to these compounds—and to forest environments as a whole— can influence our stress response, cardiovascular system, and immune function. ✨
One study measuring the air beneath a Mediterranean holm oak forest found something especially interesting: during July and August, monoterpene concentrations showed two daily peaks—between 6–8am and 1–3pm.
PMID: 32570891
And there’s growing research behind why spending time among trees can feel so restorative. 🌿
Studies on forest bathing have reported:
• lower cortisol levels
• lower blood pressure
• lower heart/pulse rate
• increased relaxation and parasympathetic activity
• increased natural killer (NK) cell activity
A systematic review and meta-analysis found significantly lower cortisol levels with forest exposure compared with urban environments. 🏙️
PMID: 31001682
Another meta-analysis found lower blood pressure and heart/pulse rate in forest environments compared with non-forest environments. 🫀
PMID: 28814305
And research specifically investigating phytoncides found that exposure to vaporized hinoki cypress compounds increased NK cell activity and several markers associated with NK-cell function.
PMID: 20074458
Can’t make it to the forest? 🌲 Research on tree-derived essential oils is interesting too. Inhaling fir essential oil has been associated with improved mood and reduced anxiety, while hinoki cypress oil has been shown to increase parasympathetic nervous activity and promote physiological relaxation.

PMID: 26694076
Maybe there’s a reason taking a deep breath under the trees just feels different. 🌲
Do you notice a shift in your mood or body when you spend time in the forest?
Maybe we don’t need to do more.
Maybe we just need to spend more time where we came from. 🌿🌊⛰️
There’s something about moving through wild places that makes the noise fade, your breathing slow, and everything feel a little simpler.
Water. Trees. Ocean. Mountains.
Go outside. Get a little lost. Come back to yourself.

Our feet are one of the most overlooked parts of the body, yet they're constantly gathering information with every step we take. 👣 From grass and sand to rocks and roots, different surfaces provide rich sensory input that helps us connect with the world around us. Sometimes, the simplest way to care for your nervous system is to reconnect with the ground beneath your feet.
Sometimes the best kind of morning starts with nowhere to be. 🌄👣
No notifications. No noise. Just fresh air, wild places, and a little more room to breathe.
Go where you can hear yourself think.
There’s a reason getting outside can feel like more than just a weekend away. 🌲
The “3 Day Effect” is the idea that spending several days immersed in nature can help us slow down, disconnect from the constant noise of everyday life, and reconnect with ourselves and our surroundings.
Day one, you’re still thinking about everything waiting for you at home.
Day two, you start settling in.
Day three… you might finally feel like you’ve arrived. 🏕️
No notifications. No rushing. Just miles of trail, fresh air, quiet mornings, and dirt under your feet.
Maybe rewilding isn’t about escaping your life—it’s about stepping away long enough to remember how you want to live it.
Take the long way. Stay a little longer. Get outside. 🌿👣
Barefoot in the earth just feels… right. 🌎👣 Step outside, feel the ground, soak up some sun, breathe fresh air, and reconnect with nature. 🌿 Maybe a powerful reset doesn’t have to be complicated—it can start with simply remembering you’re part of it.
Are you excited!? We want to welcome our Limited Edition Stone Grey Chronos cotton footbeds to the team! Also available in limited edition black, and our original brown. 🩶🖤🤎
There’s something special about finding fresh spring water flowing straight from the earth. 💧 We love knowing exactly where our water is coming from and slowing down enough to appreciate something so simple, natural, and essential. #waterislife
