As a Christian, I support the mandatory reading of the Bible in Texas. If I did not, I would not be a Christian. I agree that we live in a free country and have freedom of religion, but I would argue that Christianity should not automatically be viewed as a conflict with the First Amendment. The Constitution, the Bill of Rights, many of our laws, and much of our moral framework were influenced by biblical principles. I believe that without the Bible’s influence, America would not have become the great country it is today. People need to recognize that God has blessed America despite the imperfections and struggles throughout its history. I would argue that biblical teachings encouraged intellectual discussions and helped change people’s minds on important moral issues over time. In my view, many other religions do not emphasize this approach, and some have historically spread or enforced beliefs through coercion. I also believe it makes sense to reintroduce Bible reading in schools because, after the Bible was removed from public schools, rates of depression, anxiety, and confusion among young people increased. From my perspective, this policy is not about forcing people to become Christians. Rather, it is about restoring something that was once part of the educational system and that I believe had a positive influence on society.
@OurSf49ers Refs were against us, all offensive, defensive and ST were off tempo. Niners need to learn and move on. Hopefully we don’t make this same mistake
I’m going to make California the best state in America for dogs!
And that means getting rid of POINTLESS killjoy rules through the Office of Fun and Freedom.
My dogs, George and Penny, are very excited about this one.
