Sharing something interesting that I read.
Continuing SIP for 5 years - 67.8% chance of getting 12% returns.
Another 2 years - Probability increases to 74%
Another 8 years - Whopping 98% chance of beating 12%. - Patience & Discipline definitely rewarded.
Out of total Equity AUM,
Large Cap - 3.65 LCR
Mid cap - 4.17 LCR
Small Cap - 3.33 LCR.
Mid & small caps inching near or overtaking large caps. Usually the go to funds remained Large caps, but is seen a change. I think it is because of the reward the risk gives. Thoughts?
@iamankitpande I would say, this is a better understanding. What you have explained is a very old mistake we have been doing for years. Add on top of your plan, some backup, do calculations with bit more conservative returns and go for it.
Cash held in MF’s are getting deployed aggressively. Yet few funds like PPFAS flexi and SBI small caps still hold more than 10% cash. Signals there are opportunities taken and few more yet to be. There is entry point for everyone.
@BaluGorade Saying one as "Investment" and "Insurance" is misleading. A product can be either of those but not both. They are altogether different world's.
@Atulsingh_asan MF's allows to spread the money among multiple large cap stocks. Instead of taking the bet on one single stock, we have a pool of large cap stocks now, on hope that even if one lets us down, other may compensate. MF way is still better I believe. Just my opinion.
@Atulsingh_asan Few would have entered without knowing what they are doing. Also a possibility that, one having multiple accounts closed one or two. Irrespective patience is needed.
