Tonight’s Vale of Clwyd CAMRA meeting has been cancelled due to the forecast of more snow. Our next meeting is at the Britannia Inn, Halkyn, on Wednesday the 15th February, when we will discuss our selection for the Good Beer Guide. Please share.
1/2 Vale of Clwyd Camra branch are very saddened to hear that Ian Ogden has passed away so unexpectedly. Ian was a Camra member since 1977 and was active with the Chester branch before becoming their Chairman.
2/2 In the late 1980s, he transferred to the Vale of Clwyd branch were he was the chairman for over 20 years. During this time he championed local pubs, breweries and was actively involved in organising Novemberfest each year. He will be sorely missed. RIP dear friend.
2/2 At the presentation in Mold Alehouse, the beer was available in KeyKeg and it was interesting to compare this with the cask version from the festival. Opinion differed as to which version was the best but all agreed it was a worthy winner.
1/2 The award for the 2022 Novemberfest Champion Beer was presented recently for Reaction Brewery Southern Pass. This 5.9% beer is described as an American Pale ale hopped with Cascade, Columbus, Simcoe and Mosaic.
