We don't want you to buy our game, we want you to try it first!
Click that "Request Access" button bellow Buy and you can then play it!
If you like it and then decide to buy it then that's great, but we're firm believers you should be able to try a game first. AT ALL TIMES!!!
@GameSpot I thought that's what they've been doing... When was the last time they took a chance with a game that didn't look like it had "greatest potential"?
@pcgamer I grew up with loading games from cassettes! Don't miss them, don't miss the CD/DVD/Bluerays either. I understand the preservation angle, but from a geopolitical perspective, games should be the least of your worries!
@GOGcom, an opportunity for some high-speed PC cards maybe?
@pcgamer FOMO reaction at Square Enix makes for a misguided use of AI. You can't trust AI with checks, you can only trust it to accelerate, not replace, not the current generation of AI anyways.
@RinoTheBouncer ✅Baldur's Gate 3
✅Clair Obscur Expedition 33
✅Jagged Alliance 3
✅Red Dead Redemption 2 (if you ignore the online mode)
In no particular order...
I'm definitely falling foul of this, but I won't apologise. Our cards may have subtle trade-offs, but they do have them. And especially with deckbuilders there's aaaaalways a trade-off.
This is really good advice I wish designers would take more. "Big advantage plus small disadvantage" can work if it is very carefully balance with a specific eye toward enabling certain builds, but those builds have to be clear and awesome.
When you choose 1 of 3 bonuses, you already get a penalty: Not getting the other 2 bonuses. There's no upside to lard on some arbitrary penalty like "+2% to constipation" to clutter up the game.
@spiderwebsoft On the same note, whatever you do in your game, you'll always have players with different opinions about it, given you have enough players.
@spiderwebsoft You can argue that not using penalties could relax cognitive load on the player, but then where's the supporting evidence? You might prefer it that way, I certainly don't mind it, someone else might actually love it. It's very contextual.
@Jonathan_Blow Honestly, it depends on the context. Wording might be an issue - I'd use "deals 75% of based dmg" or nothing at all, since the dmg range is clearly displayed just below the level line.

@iBrews So Threat Interactive is basically wondering if PhysX seems faster than Chaos due to the GPU acceleration it benefits from on Nvidia GPUs. Yet people are completely failing at basic reading comprehension. Learn to read!
