When a painting thrills me, I take time tozoom in and inspect it thoroughly. I think I'm trying to see what is happening with paint, color and composition that "makes" the piece thrill me. Sometimes I see more than intended.

@mtnhousewife I am happy to hear this. Good marriages make the best lives in the world. I've known many good ones, but more not good ones. Yet, I still believe in marriage. My response is to your cavalier comment about selecting a man of good character, like that is an easy thing to do.

@mtnhousewife By this I mean: Be sure to have something to fall back on, like a career, your own money, autonomy, and marketable skills. Otherwise, you'll lose your driver's license AND your credit card when he abandons you for a tighter model.

@TheGreatB00ks Also, Latin helps us learn foreign languages, or at least muddle through written text in many foreign languages. Learning Greek is also helpful. And if you are attending a classical school, what would you expect to learn if not Latin and greek?

@mtnhousewife I'm sure no one selects a spouse of bad character, but reading character is not an exact science. Reality indicates that 50% of the time, the selection (men and women) is wrong. When it's right, it's the greatest alliance in human history! When it's not...it's heartbreaking.
