Campfire stories, rhymes, and jokes along with s’mores, a bear hunt, #Spanish and #English reading, and math, kinders celebrated the last week of school at #CampRemembering. #KinderPioneers
Each aspect of our day was student led. From phonics to math to movement, kinders took turns choosing, leading, and encouraging their peers. #KinderPioneers
As their world expands, it has been a pleasure to see our kinders growing as young people who recognize the efforts of staff and their peers at PVE. #KinderPioneers
After listening to Eyes That Kiss in the Corners during story time, J & B spent their learning lab time comparing and contrasting it with Eyes That Speak to the Stars, a recent addition to our classroom library. They also noted illustrations which reminded them of lunar new year.
Mercy Watson was the perfect fit for kinders in after school program. They laughed at the antics of Mercy (the pig who LOVES hot buttered toast), Eugenia, and Baby. It hooked them for Book 2. #BLAST#KinderPioneers
PVE kinders visited Baker Arts Center where they created process art, identified their favorite artwork in the gallery, added their mark to the dot room, played, and ate lunch. #KinderPioneers
Justin and Domingo were recognized as #PioneersOfTheMonth for demonstrating #Citizenship. The #BlueGroup and #RedGroup were recognized for meeting attendance goals. Special congrats go to educator of the month Mrs. Romo and para educators Ms. Gonzalez and Ms. Medina. #Kinder
At the conclusion of their garden and farm unit, kinders had the opportunity to learn about and interact with Kunekune pigs, Nigerian Dwarf goats, and rabbits. Thank you, Sarah Foreman and Holly Owens, for sharing your farm animals with us! #KinderPioneers 🐖🐐🐇
Fire Engines Nos. 16 and 17 rolled up to PVE on Friday. Firefighters shared the importance of fire safety plans—practicing an escape route, using your senses, and having smoke detectors installed at home. Kinders met Sparky the Fire Dog, too! Thanks, Liberal Fire Department! 🚒👨🚒
In 1888, 83 houses were built in 8 days when Liberal’s townsite opened. Kinder mathematicians were tasked with representing those houses as they learned about founder Seymour Rogers and celebrated Liberal’s 135th birthday. #SRMS#LiberalKS#ThatsMightyLiberalOfYou@cityofliberal
Food and family have been favorite topics in Room D114. Kinders added another book to their home libraries with Amy Wu and the Perfect Bao. They were tickled to see a recipe to share with their families as well as photos of author @KatZhang and illustrator @charlenedraws.
NATIONAL SCHOOL LIBRARIAN DAY | C and D articulated the kinders’ feelings about library time. “They [librarians] are kind, help us learn to read, read us stories, do art projects, and let us check out books!” Thank you, Ms. Venegas, Mrs. Cortez, & Mrs. Carter! #KinderPioneers
Kinders enjoyed their party treats and then quickly found their egg quota during the hunt on the playground. Thanks to all who organized and hid eggs for the egg hunt! #KinderPioneers
Our K-2 classes enjoyed egg hunts on the playground during our Easter Parties today! It was a beautiful day to celebrate with friends. We wish all of our families a very Happy Easter. 🐣
