Reading aloud doesn't teach kids to love reading. It teaches them to love books, stories, learning things, the intimacy of being read to...all that is wonderful, but it's not a love of *reading*.
If you want children to love reading, you have to teach them how to do it well.

FAQ: Is dyslexia screening the same as special ed testing?
No. Screening for dyslexia risk is not the same as evaluating a student for special ed eligibility, as screening tools are designed to predict the likelihood of reading challenges. Students at risk need further eval.

Have you listened to the first two episodes yet? We are hooked! Thank you @ehanford for bringing illiteracy to the forefront of the conversation, once again
A must listen. Launched today @ehanford new podcast "an exposé of how educators came to believe in something that isn't true and are now reckoning with the consequences — children harmed, money wasted, an education system upended". https://t.co/P2R2Xn5zQX
