@sgcommoner@DrewPavlou Look again, they’re left of centre, calling them leftist or communists would be a mislabeling.
Don’t fully agree with what they say, but they do write with nuance
@arsenal_brasuca Actually Anderson was in a dilemma. The edge of the box is where Messi was still dangerous. So either block the usual left foot shot from Messi or stick with Enzo.
Tough choice cus Messi can curl one in or risk it and hope Pickford saves another of those long range Enzo shots
@SqChen1234@DrewPavlou I wouldn’t say they think that the government is not needed. But that it is so trustworthy (they’ve fulfilled their promise to the people) that it becomes part of the nation’s psyche/fabric.
Nobody there is saying they can live without the govt; it’s just become part of life.
@Kpaxs Since we were children we needed affirmation from others. Any child without that withers. As adults we need people to genuinely respect us. It kind of gets us going.
Can we really escape our need for esteem and the high regard from others? Perhaps, but it aint easy.
@CEOLandshark That’s a separate thing now isn’t it: responding to things in a way that gets what you want may not be what the situation calls for.
I like the example you gave about being at the crossroads tho
@AranKnowles@CEOLandshark Interesting, what you shared would be ideal. But I always thought desire could be set by what we think people value too
E.g , if we learn that ppl value a certain trait, many a times we want to be seen that way so that they will want us around them; at heart it’s socially driven
@bluewmist If therapy only works with words then it might be time to try another therapist. Therapy is there to address our emotional experiences, which involves direct experiences too, since they go to the somatic level during these sessions
@adamshuaib We also do see people who repeat the same dull/boring routine every day for 20yrs; same desk at the same hour, the same meals, same walks, same bedtime - and they aren't geniuses.
