Well done to Sophie Zambelli in year 8! Sophie managed to accomplish 87 points throughout the summer and enjoyed the book Dork Diaries because of all the the pictures and tips on how to survive school and bullies. She suggest you all should read more!

This suggestion is from Mr. King and it’s ‘The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13 ¾.’ If you know Mr. King you will not be surprised by the fact that the book is incredibly hilarious throughout. A good suggestion for a non-reader!

Molly Stephens has been busy reading over the summer holidays, accumulating 38 points! She read books such as Wonder and a play called Midnight Stream. She recommends Wonder because it has an interesting story-line and each character had a chapter from their P.O.Vs.

Well done to Madison Preece of 9LL2 who was able to accumulate 24 points by reading books such as Smart and The Girl on The Train in which she would recommend to others as the thriller had a very good structure, good vocabulary and didn’t take too long to read.

Over the summer, Sienna Stieber managed to get 29 points all together! She loves Greek and Egyptian mythology so read books such as Percy Jackson, Heroes of Olympus and Kingkiller Chronicles which all have themes of mythology. She even researched more afterwards!

Congratulations to Josh Powell who managed to accumulate 60 points over the summer. It wasn't easy as well! This included the whole Harry Potter series, ‘The Diary of a Young Girl’ which is about the life of Anne Frank and Jane Eyre which he started in English.

Well done to Adam Wallage of 9LL2 who acquired 110 points by reading 20 books! His reads include the Alex Rider series and Middle School. He would recommend the Alex Rider series, Sci-Fi books about a boy who becomes a spy, as it had a good plot and wasn’t difficult to read.

Brandon Woods has been busy reading 24/7 over the Summer holidays. Many of his reads include: The Skulduggery Pleasant Series and The Harry Potter Series. His recommendation is The Magnus Series because the characters were multi-layered and were placed in real life problems.
