According to reports and industry rumors, the new stricter requirements for PR applicants may come into effect as early as tomorrow. The executive order signed by the National Director of Migration was issued about a week ago. We should know tomorrow whether it is already being applied in practice.

Those who arrived in Paraguay this weekend expecting to apply for PR with zero-income VAT filings may discover that they no longer qualify under the new requirements.

🚨🇫🇷 FLASH | Noahm, un jeune homme gay de 19 ans, a été tué à Metz. Ses proches affirment qu’il s’agit d’une attaque homophobe : le jeune homme a été passé à tabac "parce que voilà, Noahm se maquille, Noahm est efféminé", affirme une amie de la victime, avec qui il était le soir de l’agression.

Une personne présente ce soir-là raconte à Mediapart que Noahm et son groupe d’amis dansaient "à 50 mètres d’un groupe de trois jeunes" qui jouaient de la musique sur une enceinte, en se prenant en vidéo.

Les trois individus leur ont alors demandé de supprimer les vidéos sur lesquelles ils apparaissaient, et Noahm les a supprimées "immédiatement", selon le même témoin. Malgré cela, les mis en cause auraient pris son téléphone et l’auraient "explosé" au sol. Ils l’auraient ensuite accusé d’avoir volé une casquette, et projeté au sol. Sa tête a violemment percuté le sol, selon le témoin, qui ajoute avoir vu un nouveau coup derrière la tête, alors que Noahm se faisait insulter de "sale pédale", "sale pédé". Deux hommes âgés de 20 et 27 ans sont mis en examen pour violences et "tentative d’homicide par personne agissant en état d’ivresse manifeste", mesure bientôt requalifiée en homicide volontaire. Le caractère homophobe n’a pas encore été retenu.

Noahm est décédé des coups et de ses blessures.

Uruguay just became the best Plan B residency in South America.

Here's how it works: Get a hearing date, come to Uruguay with your documents, apply, wait 8-12 months for approval, then you're a permanent resident.

Until recently, applicants were typically expected to spend the entire 8-12 month processing period inside Uruguay. This was a dealbreaker for most.

But in the last 1-2 years, we're seeing people who apply correctly with all needed documents upfront get approved without spending any time in Uruguay during the processing period. This is the gamechanger.

You come to Uruguay for a few days for your hearing, apply, then you're free to leave. 8-12 months later, with a clean application & documents, you'll be approved. And no need to return.
