So there we are. First Class tickets. Ten-year anniversary trip. Bags packed. Checked in. Customer service advocating for us in real time. And the only person who can solve the problem is refusing to solve the problem. @lufthansa
Customer service hears the story and says, "Put the agent on the phone." Their professional assessment: this is ridiculous and unprofessional. Also, we've already checked in and our bags should be accepted. @lufthansa
She tells me to call customer service. So at exactly 3:00 PM, standing at her counter, I call customer service. Because apparently airports now come with homework. I can feel tears. I hate crying. @lufthansa
The agent spends time chatting with another customer while we wait. She never mentions that baggage acceptance is apparently approaching extinction. @lufthansa
Then, as if responding to a silent distress call, 3 agents leave. Not for another counter. Not to help customers. Just... gone. The remaining agent sees us standing in line. Everyone sees us standing in line. This becomes important later. @lufthansa
We pull into the front-row parking deck at 2:48 PM and reach the bag drop counter at 2:52 PM. Four agents are working the counter. Our migration appears promising. Ticket from the expense deck. @lufthansa
The flight was scheduled for 3:55 PM. Then 4:10 PM. Then back to 3:55 PM. An early sign that time itself would not be a reliable narrator in this story. @lufthansa
October 6. My husband and I are headed to Italy for our 10-year wedding anniversary AND his brothers wedding. We're due to land in Pisa on October 7, our actual anniversary. We even splurged on First Class. Something we'd never done before on an international trip. @lufthansa
Nature is incredible. We are observing a passenger attempting to reach their destination. Sadly, @lufthansa has redirected the herd. Let's rewind to where this journey first left reality... #AirportDelays
Here we go again @united and @lufthansa . This has been the absolute WORST customer service and flying treatment I’ve experienced. I didn’t think it could be nearly as bad trying to go home as we experienced coming to Italy but here we are.
