APC senator Oshiomhole accuses another APC senator Akpabio of protecting the NNPC
Oshiomhole said Akpabio is protecting NNPC because his daughter is working there without merit and that’s why Akpabio is covering the NNPC investigation
SOWORE BEING SENT TO PRISON: A DANGEROUS REGRESSION FOR OUR DEMOCRACY
I have received, with deep concern, the news of the court’s remand of citizen activist Omoyele Sowore in Kuje Prison.
While the judiciary remains the ultimate arbiter of justice, we must consistently guard against any trend that gives the appearance of state institutions being weaponised to systematically stifle dissent, muzzle the press, or shrink the legitimate space for civic engagement in Nigeria.
A thriving democracy does not survive on the silencing of opposing voices; rather, it is anchored on the robust protection of fundamental human rights, most notably the freedoms of expression and peaceful assembly, as enshrined in our Constitution. Moreover, our society is already strained by insecurity and biting economic hardship; therefore, deliberate steps should be taken, even by the courts, to avoid inflaming the situation.
When we begin to treat citizen critics, activists, and journalists as threats to state survival rather than as partners in building accountability, we signal a dangerous slide toward authoritarianism. Our current challenges, ranging from economic strain to internal security vulnerabilities, require inclusive dialogue and cohesive nation-building, not the incarceration of those who demand a better society.
I urge the relevant authorities to ensure that the rule of law is strictly adhered to, that Mr. Sowore’s constitutional rights are fully protected, and that our security and judicial institutions are used solely for the impartial administration of justice. We cannot build a New Nigeria if we continue to undermine the very democratic structures meant to protect us all. -PO
I arrived in Sokoto today as part of our ongoing consultative engagements, for a strategic meeting with the leadership of the NDC in the state.
The visit is aimed at strengthening and expanding the party’s structure across Sokoto State, while also kick-starting preparations for the success of the Obi-Kwankwaso ticket and all NDC candidates in the upcoming elections.
The meeting was well attended by state party executives, and dedicated members, who reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to the growth and victory of the party. - RMK

To all MTN Nigeria @MTNNG subscribers. Before you read this post, Dail *305# on your line to see where MTN has secretly placed you.
Early this morning i discovered that MTN Nigeria is secretly subscribing their customers to things they never applied for, and they are doing it in the middle of the night when their customers are less active with their phones. The worst part of it is that, they set all these dubious subscriptions on auto renewal every midnight when you are fast asleep or less active with your phone. They will be deducting money every midnight from your account, without you even noticing. They are taking this advantage because they know Nigerians don't read messages from telecommunication companies. We just ignore, cancel, delete, or swipe without paying true attention to details, so they are capitalizing on that. They also know customers will not notice their tricks easily.
On the 23rd of june 2026, at about 12:01 am, MTN Nigeria @MTNNG sent me a message without me even noticing. The message reads "Dear customer, you have successfully subscribed to MEGA WINS - SLOT DAILY and NO deduction from your account. Your service will be renewed on 24/06/2026/ 00:01"
On the 24th of June 2026, at about 12:06 am, MTN Nigeria sent me a message, but this time i noticed it because of something. The message reads "Dear customer, your subscription to MEGA WINS - SLOT DAILY has been renewed successfully and 100 Naira deducted from your account. This service will expire and auto renew on 25/06/2026/ 00:06"
MTN Nigeria, i did not subscribe to MEGA WINS - SLOT DAILY, I have never subscribed, i can never subscribe, and i will never subscribe to MEGA WINS - SLOT DAILY. Surprisingly you people intentionally stole my 100 naira from my account, which cost me a 4 billion naira property business deal that i was supposed to seal. I woke up by midnight to call my client based on the appointment i had, but was shocked to notice that my credit has been dubiously deducted without my consent. I couldn't make the call, i couldn't reach the client, so i lost the business. But i must see to the end of this secret thievery.

For those that will say 100 naira is too small or nothing to complain about, listen to this.
MTN has 96.4 million active subscribers in Nigeria. If they should
successfully pull this secret midnight subscription scam with daily auto renewal on just 2 million of their subscribers for 30 days, it's a whooping 6 billion naira in illegal returns. If they do it for 12 months, it's a massive 72 billion naira in illegal returns.

One thing has become increasingly clear, Mr. Peter Obi is no longer merely a politician seeking office. He has become a symbol of hope for millions of Nigerians who desire a different kind of leadership.
Whether in Lagos, Abuja, or other parts of the country, the crowds, the energy, and the genuine affection shown to him cannot be manufactured. They are not the product of state resources, political patronage, or ethnic mobilization. Rather, they are the result of years of consistency, simplicity, discipline, and a message that resonates deeply with ordinary Nigerians.
What continues to inspire many about Mr. Peter Obi is that he speaks less about power and more about purpose. He speaks about production rather than consumption, about investing in people rather than politics, and about building a nation where competence matters more than connections.
In every engagement, whether with business leaders, young professionals, market men and women, students, or community stakeholders, the same pattern emerges: people listen because they believe he understands their pain and shares their aspirations. His recent engagements in Lagos have once again reinforced his commitment to credible elections, national development, and a more productive Nigeria.
What many see in Mr. Peter Obi is not perfection. Rather, they see a leader who has consistently demonstrated prudence, accountability, and empathy in public service. They see a man whose personal lifestyle reflects many of the values he advocates publicly.
The excitement surrounding him is therefore not just about one man. It is about what he represents: the possibility that Nigeria can work, that leadership can be responsible, and that public office can once again become a platform for service rather than personal enrichment.
History often reminds us that great movements are built around ideas, not individuals. Mr. @PeterObi's greatest strength may not be Peter Obi himself, but the awakening of civic consciousness he has inspired among millions of Nigerians who now believe they have a stake in the future of their country.
Consistently unfolding events serve as yet another reminder that while political structures remain important, the most powerful force in any democracy is still the people.
As we celebrate Father's Day today, it is also fitting to acknowledge the fatherly role that true leadership plays in society, offering guidance, responsibility, sacrifice, and hope for future generations. Nigeria's yearning for better leadership is, at its core, a desire for a nation that cares for its people and secures a brighter future for its children.
Happy Father's Day to all fathers and father figures whose sacrifices, wisdom, and dedication continue to shape families, communities, and nations.

"It's now or never—don't sit on the fence. We all know the 2027 general election is coming. I hear some people saying, 'Voting is not working, we're tired, we've been voting for years and nothing has changed.' Don't let them defeat you mentally.
It's time to stand our ground. We can't keep planning to go to church every Sunday and not plan to vote in the 2027 election. Your vote can make a difference. Everybody needs to come together. If you think your area is not safe enough, gather with other voters at your polling unit."

I think as at June 22nd 2026, any Nigerian home and abroad that says they don’t know who they will vote for OR who says “They are all the same” should not be taken seriously.
Ignore such a person.

BREAKING: We've urged the government of President @officialABAT to immediately and unconditionally release journalist @sowore and drop all charges of criminal defamation and cybercrimes against him, as he is detained solely for the peaceful exercise of his human rights.
According to reports, a federal high court in Abuja today ordered the remand of Sowore at the Kuje Correctional Centre pending the hearing of his application challenging the revocation of his bail. The court made the order after dismissing an application by Sowore seeking the judge’s recusal from the case on grounds of alleged bias.
We are concerned about the escalating crackdown on the rights to freedom of expression, peaceful assembly, association and media freedom and the flagrant disregard for the rule of law by Nigerian authorities.
Nigerian authorities should safeguard, not stifle, human rights and the rule of law in the country.
Nigerian authorities must immediately release Sowore and drop all the bogus charges against him. Authorities must stop weaponizing criminal defamation and cybercrime laws to target and attack journalists, bloggers, human rights defenders and activists and stop detaining and imprisoning them solely for doing their jobs.
