The @Bungie@BungieCareers tech blog was a fascinating first read, proper insight into how mature codebases can manifest bugs that have seemingly been around for a while but never actually shown themselves. I am curious as to why so many underscores, I'm guessing for readability?
Hosted an API I single handly built on a publicly accessible domain for the first time today. Something that has been done by many, but feels like a big achievement for me.
Always the little things that cause issues. Spent nearly 2 hours wondering why I couldn’t connect to a database on EC2, didn’t have an inbound rule for the port 🙃
So if I do a full play through of the @Bungie Halo series, is it best to do it in release order (CE, 2, 3 ODST, Reach) or do I throw Reach in at the start 🤔
First impressions of @TheDivisionGame are very good, matchmaking worked better, cover is utilised better and controlling weapons seems tighter. Not without its faults though, UI is far too busy and at times the contrast between light and dark spaces makes it hard to play well.
Messing around with some “cover” systems, green being the points that are classed as safe, red being points that are in the players line of sight, ie the camera view. #GameDev#Unity
After talking to some people I don’t think some appreciate how difficult games dev is and I feel unless you’ve been through a full dev cycle you have very little ground to winge and complain about a game and the people who make them.
