Africa is becoming intolerable in many regions due to global warming - this despite the continent being responsible for less than 4% of global emissions. Where is the climate justice here?
It is immoral for oil & gas companies to be making record profits from the current energy crisis on the backs of the poorest, at a massive cost to the climate.
I urge all governments to tax these excessive profits & use the funds to support the most vulnerable people.
Higher #GlobalWarming = more compounding impacts such as droughts and heatwaves.
The #IPCC#ClimateReport shows concurrent extremes at multiple locations, incl. in crop-producing areas, become more frequent at 2°C (3.6°F) & above compared to 1.5°C (2.7°F) global warming.
Collective intelligence about the environment was swayed for 30 years by things like these. Worth reflecting on how it happened. Was this asymmetric warfare, or were (are) the “good guys” really asleep at the communication wheel?

Our Climate Action Framework outlines 5 things we are working on to meet the climate challenge: accelerate technology & innovation, further mitigate emissions from operations, endorse a carbon price policy, advance cleaner fuels & drive climate reporting. https://t.co/rSr4iHbtlj
I don't block people for what they say: I block them for how they say it.
If someone can't express their opinion without being rude or mean, or without ridiculing, smearing, or misrepresenting me or someone else who's trying their best, then I don't want it in my timeline.
Scaring, guilting and/or shaming individuals is commonly perceived to be the most effective way to motivate them to engage in climate action here on Twitter. But as I explain here, such approaches backfire more often than they succeed. https://t.co/N0oLSSD7l1
Man from
'Centre for Study of Existential Risk'
says
'there is Existential Risk'
to nobody's surprise.
Perhaps he's concerned that we all survived the 'existential' heatwave?

Wonderful summary of my competition policy class in Ec10 from @wfrick who does a more concise version of my overly long Twitter thread.
This might be enough to encourage me to tweet out another class sometime.
