The man was a legend and a gentleman.

He and my dad were sports legends from rival schools (Colbert was a KState Wildcat, dad a Kansas Jayhawk), but they knew each other and had a mutual respect for the other’s amazing achievements.

One year as we were headed on a golf vacation, my dad, brother and I all had our clubs stolen from my dad’s car.

Dad called Jim, explained the situation. Jim was sponsored by Callaway and connected my dad with his assistant. Three brand new sets of Callaway clubs met us in Florida.
