@CoffeeBlackMD Hereโs the reason: Neurons (the myelin sheaths of the axon specifically) in the CNS require cholesterol to function. Also cholesterol is a building block for testosterone. There are countless people who have suffered cognitive and physical decline after starting statins (hitler)
@DaKandyman32 Nothing wrong with going past parallel (actually you should) if you do it with good form but we werent. 2 knee surgeries later for me I finally figured out how to do it safe
@DaKandyman32 Not blaming the coaches, they didnโt know anything different. Some actual science based strength and conditioning would have gone a long way to prevent injuries like what happened to you. Itโs even still worth a look if itโs still bothering you
@DaKandyman32 Hate to break it to you bro but after getting a masters degree in strength and conditioning and training soldiers and athletes for a few years it has become obvious to me that we were being trained incorrectly by coaches that didnโt know what they were doing in the weight room.
@CoachRasberry @BurnTheLadders Yes, the study showed an increase in tidal volume (how much air comes in and out per breath) with hands on knees posture compared to standing. Sent it to all my old coaches when it came out
@CoachRasberry Metabolic strain makes muscles grow too, hence why sets of 12 are great for hypertrophy. That said, lifting heavy weight makes big muscles and thatโs not up for debate.
@CoachRasberry Enough to solve almost any strength-related problem. Itโs all the exercise stimuli I use, organized based on the desired adaptation, and arranged from conservative to more aggressive interventions. Everything from clinical therapeutic exercise up to powerlifting and plyometrics.
