I'm not here to change the world single-handedly, but I do believe in making a difference where I can, starting with myself and extending to my community.
The answer isn’t socialism - it opportunity. In the 1950’s a family could purchase a house on the salary of a tradesman. Today it takes the salaries of 2 people with high salaries - particularly in any major city. The basis of those higher salaries is usually at least one college degree and the student debt they carry forward. Most new housing construction in the cities are apartments close to public transit. The socialists would be happy to see a nation of debtors beholden to corporate landlords, in perpetual debt, and hypnotized by social media. Younger people in this dilemma feel caught in a beggars trap and see socialism as their savior. They are half right. The store of the nations wealth has been increasingly shifting to a new elite class through diminishing free trade and diminishing business opportunities. The solution starts with taking steps that would allow the younger people an opportunity to participate in the economy without the constraints that have been constructed by monopolistic corporations and a government who allows them that luxary. Increased free trade, more community banks, and a reduction of regulation and tariff is a good place to start.
The reason socialism is more popular with people under 30 is that they are smart enough to see the distribution of wealth has shifted to the few and not the working class. This has nothing to do with being woke - it is a simple economic fact - the cycle of capitalism has made it impossible for young workers to buy a house or raise a family.
@BrettErickson28 Actually, he doesn't look weak to tell Israel to pound sand - he looks much stronger - todays Israel is no longer respected anywhere in the world - their decision making is worse than Trumps, and that bar is pretty low.
@libsoftiktok@michiganstateu@AAGDhillon School clubs usually have a specific mission or ideals - it's almost the antithesis of diversity, equity, and inclusion. LGBTQ clubs are a good example.
I'm in my late 60s and have never been more embarrassed about our president and his cabinet.
We have become subservient to an other country for foreign policy, the CIA and FBI have their foothold in domestic policy, and the workers of this country are being squeezed dry by the elite. We are led by buffoon actors and corporate money grubbers that are no better than idle vagrants, beggars, and thieves.
@ASavageNation Institutional ETF’s are big buyers of Bitcoin and able to manipulate the price. Bitcoin is not much different than the fiat dollar once it left the gold standard.
@libsoftiktok I can't believe I'm saying this but actually we would have been much better off with her - I'm an independent and Trump has lost all of us.
@DanielLDavis1 In most cases I would agree with you but after years of daily below the belt rants against Trump I think Colbert had it coming - Trump has been a lot worse than this lately - this one was actually funny
