Say hello to my troublesome little friend, the infamous intake CVVT solenoid on the 2.0L Nu GDi engine. For codes P0011 and P052A.
This likkle boy is usually behind the Kia/Hyundai GDi engine hate. And its a fix as simple as just cleaning it. If you're getting a Camshaft Position Sensor code, check this first, clean it AND the Camshaft Position Sensors first, clear the codes and run the car for about 15km and see if it helps. My symptoms were shit MPG and occasional lazy throttle response. Did a little digging and found a cure. DO NOT CLEAN WITH WATER! Use petrol or Carb and Choke cleaner if you have any. Probably should've taken a before pic. It was very dirty from neglect and poor oil servicing.
