After X, YouTube Is Changing Who Gets Paid
YouTube is making major YPP changes from February 1, 2027:
• Shorts: 10M qualified views in 90 days will be required for Shorts ad + subscription revenue sharing.
• New creators: YPP ad/Premium entry rises to 8,000 watch hours OR 20M Shorts views.
• Premium Lite: Expanding globally where YouTube Premium is available, creating another potential revenue stream for creators.
The important part: existing YPP creators keep their status, and fan funding + Shopping thresholds remain unchanged.
After X's creator monetization changes, YouTube making its own adjustments is interesting.
Are platforms raising the bar for creators - or simply trying to reward the ones who consistently deliver?
Will We Stop Owning PCs?
Watching all the tech YouTubers and news of AI, how likely is it in 50 years by the time the millennial generation is dwindling that all consumer PC hardware is obsolete?
Everything is on the cloud servers and we pay access to login? It's funded by company/government monthly stipends.
AI coding agents are NOT the same.
Choose your AI agent wisely
Claude Code: terminal-first, deep repo context, high token use
OpenAI Codex: cloud VMs, parallel jobs, sandbox limits
GitHub Copilot agent mode: IDE help plus GitHub issue-to-PR flow, but billing can jump
Cursor agents: strong editor UX, multi-file edits, can drift on large refactors
Devin-class tools: most hands-off, but loop risk and low outside success rates on fuzzy tasks
@greg16676935420 Congrats Greg , People let us make all of us reach that milestone , let's connect guys , now as X has changed its monetization policy only each other's help can make us reach that point
@XFreeze I think the real lesson is don’t blindly trust any AI company with something as powerful as superintelligence. Companies, incentives and missions can change
@OLTOAK Yes , people are using ai slop and not just X is getting filled with it also other social media like linkedin and instagram are also full , platforms should now take strict action against them
