It was great learning from @realgeoffnorman today. He stimulated a deep discussion about how we define “good science”, the role of theory, and the nature and value of replication (including how Fisherian statistics impact replication).
Thank you for a great seminar.
@DrKreatsoulas great to hear from you. It's been too long.
As it turns out "notgeoffnorman" isn't me. It's a long story. That's the problem with Twitter. I'll email you to fill you the twitter story and other events. However I don't have an up to date email. Please email me. Geoff
@DrSueDojeiji@drjfrank@mahanmeded @SaleemRazack @IHSE_McGill Is someone going to break the news to all those faculty who are teaching courses in communication skills that it can't be taught? What about Papadakis and professionalism? That was assessment.
@SaleemRazack @drjfrank@IHSE_McGill Well, exactly what societal outcomes did Einstein, Bohr, Higgs, Schroediger, Dirac, Crick, etc. etc. Nobel prize all, meet?

I prefer to be viewed as iconoclastic rather than sarcastic

I like your comment on Trump's illiteracy. But last line should have quotes.

@rakeshspatel See also Gigerenzer, Fiedler Olsson in "Ecological rationality: Intelligence in the world" OUP. For another critique of Kahneman's conclusions.
@jvrbntz WRT to your tweet about my citing Bargh. I'm well aware of the Bargh / Kahneman debate. But the pot calls the kettle black. See LL Lopes The Rhetoric of Irrationality, Theory and Psychology 1, 62-81, 1991. And for why non replication (not mine) see me in AHSE 22:5.
@rakeshspatel Also see my editorial "Generalization and the qualitative quantitative debate in AHSE 22:5 Dec 2017 for an interesting exploration of why things do/don't replicate. (Not my idea)
@rakeshspatel I am aware of the Kahneman / Bargh debate re replication. However the pot calls the kettle black See Lopes LL The rhetoric of Irrationality. Theory and Psychology 1, 61-82, 1991. I'll send if you can't find it. (and Hansen DID replicate Bargh)
@CNNOpinion I have grown accustomed to spelling and grammar errors in CNN coverage, and understand the pressure to get things out on time . But a headline that reads "Part Deux" , not "Pas de Deux". Really! Votre francais est terrible!
