GTA VI’S 30-MINUTE SHOWCASE RAN ON A BASE PS5⁉️
Rockstar’s 30-minute GTA VI Extended Look was captured on a base PS5 and made entirely from in-game footage. That puts every crowd, reflection, vehicle and city vista in a more useful context than a cinematic trailer: Rockstar chose to demonstrate it on a regular PS5 you can buy.
The demo showed Jason and Lucia taking jobs together or separately, switching characters, driving through emergent street events and handling robberies as a team.
The wanted system also appears more readable than GTA V’s: a circle marks the area police are searching instead of filling the minimap with individual police-car icons. Masks and clothing changes were shown affecting the wanted level.
Rockstar also showed fan boats, kayaks, dirt-bike races, parachuting and working out, although some details were not fully explained.
The real technical headline is simple: Rockstar presented this scope on the standard console millions of players already own—not hardware most of them will never buy.
GTA VI’S MASKS MAY FINALLY MATTER
Before robbing a store, Jason and Lucia can reportedly change clothes and cover their faces with masks or bandanas. The idea is simple: make it harder for witnesses and police to identify them.
The presentation also shows a redesigned wanted system. Instead of every officer instantly knowing the protagonists’ exact location, the minimap displays a larger search area where police are actively hunting.
That could turn escaping into more than driving fast.
Players may need to leave the search zone, break line of sight and avoid being recognized afterward.
Rockstar hasn’t explained every rule yet, so disguises reducing wanted levels still needs formal confirmation. But the footage points toward crimes with actual preparation—and police who search instead of magically knowing.
GTA VI JUST TURNED SIDE ACTIVITIES INTO A SECOND GAME
In roughly 30 seconds, Rockstar shows Lucia riding an electric scooter, steering an airboat, diving underwater, lifting weights and watching a building through binoculars.
These aren’t five versions of the same minigame. They cover transport, exploration, fitness and surveillance—activities that could affect how players move through and interact with Leonida.
The gym is especially interesting because GTA: San Andreas tied exercise to character progression. GTA VI’s footage confirms weightlifting is present, but Rockstar hasn’t said whether it changes Lucia’s stats or appearance.
That’s the exciting part: the main story follows a criminal couple, yet the world already looks capable of keeping players busy without firing a single shot.
GTA VI’S FINAL MONTAGE HIDES HALF A DOZEN STORIES
In less than 30 seconds, Rockstar shows Jason fighting through an office, a boat trip across bright tropical water, Vice City glowing at night, a luxury entrance and a packed street car meet.
Each shot points to a different side of the world: missions, boating, nightlife, social events and the underground car scene. None of them feels separated from the same larger city.
The car meet is especially interesting. NPCs gather around heavily modified vehicles like they are attending a real community event—not simply standing beside parked props.
Rockstar still hasn’t explained which moments are missions, activities or ambient encounters. But the montage suggests GTA VI’s biggest upgrade may be variety: one world that can change its entire mood in a few streets.
THIS IS OUR BEST LOOK AT GTA VI’S SCALE
Lucia jumps from a plane and parachutes directly over Vice City, giving us one of the clearest views of the map so far.
The city doesn’t look like a collection of separate districts. Beaches, dense streets, highways, islands and the distant skyline appear connected in one continuous space beneath her.
What really sells it is the vertical scale. You can see high-rises, construction sites and entire neighborhoods stretching far beyond the landing zone.
Rockstar still hasn’t revealed the full map, so the exact size remains unknown. But this shot makes one thing obvious: GTA VI is built to make every trip feel like crossing a real place.

GTA VI ISN’T A RACING GAME—SO WHY DOES IT LOOK LIKE THREE OF THEM?
One short sequence moves from packed circuit racing to off-road dirt bikes, then into a neon street race with nitrous. Rockstar is putting several different racing styles inside the same open world.
Forza Horizon 6 should still win on car variety, tuning and driving depth. Need for Speed Unbound was built specifically around fast, stylish street racing and police chases.
GTA VI’s advantage is different. Finish the race, step out of the car, and the same world still contains robberies, boats, clubs, homes, strangers and story missions.
It does not need to replace Forza or NFS. Its racing only needs to be good enough that you stop opening another game.

GTA VI TURNS JASON AND LUCIA’S RELATIONSHIP INTO GAMEPLAY
Rockstar reportedly explored four playable protagonists before settling on one criminal couple. That choice makes Jason and Lucia easier to care about—and lets their relationship shape the quieter parts of the game.
The new presentation shows them shopping together, holding hands, working out and sharing a home. If you ignore messages or spend too long causing chaos, your partner can reportedly react.
Even shared activities may change how conversations play out, from relaxed dates to arguments after a bad job.
GTA V switched between three separate lives. GTA VI appears to be building one shared life—and making the relationship part of the open world.
