Because of X becoming so volatile and because of shadowbanning, the marketing of my creative work – in terms of my using x - has not been successful. People like @Kettlebelldan, a senior X employee, argue that if a twitter account is not working, then the material is not worthy. Accepting that would mean me accepting my posts and indeed my creative work lack credibility, so the app is clearly one issue, even if not the main problem. Facebook is the same, partly because I shitpost and shitposting is part of my digital strategy. I change it up a lot to keep it interesting, my politics fluctuate, all towards keeping a fairly dead account on x and Facebook alive until I have managed to build my own portal and decided where and how to actually market. Shitposting is the Lady Diana of marketing. It both rejects the apps, and tries to play to them as well. Like Lady Di rejected the paparazzi but played up to them. I am not worried about likes and shares and such like but the posting of my substack also seems to have failed. Half of a novel is still on it. I started to try and market it on x – some of my writing has 1000s of views, likes, comments etc, but still it is not really working. The thing is none of this really takes a lot of time. I might spend hours scrolling and posting but that’s nothing towards having to do it properly and that I have found takes a huge amount of brain time which is hard to find when working on creative work. This is the problem.
