On a more serious note, many installers are trash in this regard. They routinely oversize the safety devices (e.g. surge protectors and breakers) thereby defeating the purpose of their inclusion in the circuit.
For breakers, you start with the maximum current (Amps) of your panels at full output. Multiply that figure by 1.56 to obtain the minimum DC breaker amperage for the system. Never go below this figure and do not go too far above this figure either.
Second point, many people have AC breakers where there should be DC breakers. The mechanism to extinguish a DC arc (or spark) is far more complicated than for an AC arc. There's a magnetic mechanism involved in blowing out a DC arc.
So not only do they buy the wrong amperage (e.g. putting 100A instead of 20A, which will never ever never trip), they also install the wrong breaker type entirely.
The lightning surge that fried your system was invited since the day they finished your installation. The visitor only chose to come a little later and there was zero defences waiting for it.
And this is just for breakers. Haven't even said anything about the surge protector side of things, and more.
Sorry.
I tried a tweet I saw here about repelling mosquitoes by putting dried onion peels in a bowl of water in the corner of the room. Three nights later, not a single buzzing mercenary in sight.

I have been using my Nigerian phone numbers (+234) since I relocated to Austria many years ago. This is my usual practice, even when I visited Nigeria recently.
I recharge NGN1,000 every six months and then call a family member using that amount. My phone number remains active. Alternatively, you can use MTN or Airtel to keep your number active.
MTN allows you to pay a small fee to keep your line active for up to 3 years, even if you don't use it.
1 Year: Dial *305*1# (costs ₦400)
2 Years: Dial *305*2# (costs ₦800)
3 Years: Dial *305*3# (costs ₦1,200)
2. AIRTEL
Airtel protects your line from disconnection for up to 1 year.
1 Year: Dial *121*5*2# (costs ₦500)
Hope this helps!
Most traders fail because they don’t understand the language of the market.
They see terms like:
FVG, BOS, CHOCH, POC, VAH, VAL, SMT but don’t actually know how they connect together. 👀
This is why I always say:
«Volume Profile + Market Structure is a deadly combination when understood properly.»
A few important concepts every trader should know:
• POC → Price magnet
• LVN → Fast movement zone
• VAH/VAL → Premium & discount areas
• BOS/CHOCH → Structure shifts
• FVG → Inefficiency left behind by displacement
• SMT → Relative strength/weakness confirmation
The goal is not to memorize terms.
The goal is to understand what price is communicating.
Once you understand that, the charts start looking less random. ✍️
