It's an amzing journey so far. Only 3 months in and I feel realpool is already overflowing with features. And yet I have so much more on my roadmap.
Anyone interested in testing realpool browser game can enlist in the alpha waiting list.

@birkinapps Appreciate the comment. I was joking around regarding the table size ;) I'm currently reworking the training sandbox. Results can be shown soon.
I noticed something emberassing. My swerve and masse was wrong sided. Fix was a simple sign flip in code.
BTW: It's a real simulation with real cloth friction and spin. You set where the tip meets the cue ball and how far the cue is raised.

realpool could honestly be considered a 8 ball pool simulation. It models things so phyisically exact and holisitic. For example on the spin selector's dashed ring is the friction-cone miscue mark a chalked leather tip (μ ≈ 0.6) skids past ~0.5 R.
Modelling a new table in blender as the old one is a SVG relic from the first days. It then was glued together to become 3D which is now biting me in tilted cameras and zoom-ins as for potential ingame footage or maybe later potg's, replays etc.

I wanted pocketed balls to stop just disappearing.
Then I realized a ball that falls needs somewhere to fall into.
Now it hits the pocket liner, drops into the gully boot and runs through the ball return to the center of the table.

When you create a 3D POV walk-mode for your pool table to see if everything looks fine from there too, although the game is a top down "2D" game...

I introduced jump shots into my realpool 8 ball. Then I realized the balls are all pinned in 2D plane. Reworking to 3 dimensions now with perspective camera instead of orthographic cam. That way elevated balls give a hint of elevation by appearing just a tiny bit bigger.
When you design customizable table felts you come to a point where you realize, that not every color will work well with every other cosmetic. Then you decide you need a "lab" to tweak every table felt so they will work well with every cosmetic you will provide in the future.
I'm giving some items multiple levels for improved visuals on higher levels. Only levelable while playing with the cosmetic equipped.
What do you think?
