The retrofit worked, no issues. First Model Y with a cooled wireless charger! No QI2/faster charging on the iPhone but it does not boil the phone even when it is 30 degrees outside.
The fan kicks in, it is not audible especially with the air conditioning and seat cooling. The coding can't be done with Toolbox (no clue why, it is greyed out...) but it can be done since it is not a secure parameter (for now, they can change this if we end up buying all their YL charger inventory)
Well worth it, when YL parts availability improves a bit it'll be a no brainer. I think they'll start fitting those chargers in the factory soon.
I'll take a look at the Highland next, if the OEM charger has the same PN as the Y it should fit. The trim is different and I'd need to take out the center console to fit it but it worth it.
The hydraulic pin holding the tower arm in place did not retract.
If that can be fixed tonight, there will be another launch attempt tomorrow at 5:30 CT.
@languagebars I was prepared to buy a new MY Performance this year but now they’ve lost my business and I’m buying used. What I’ll do for the next car after that, who knows. Hopefully they come to their senses.
@acrogenesis Because it doesn’t suck. It’s not perfect, but it’s far from sucking. Also, now it’s dead so it doesn’t even matter. Tesla looking out for their shareholders with that move.
@RealTrentEdison@ryanjaycowan Autopilot/autosteer was removed a month or so ago in an effort to sell more FSD subscriptions. All new teslas now come standard with only traffic aware cruise control. Autosteer is gone. You have to pay $99/month forever now if you want it to even just hold the lane.
