The FCCPC has successfully recovered N10 billion for customers who lodged complaints against banks, fintech companies, and others.
A statement released on Thursday by Ondaje Ijagwu, the Director of Corporate Affairs at the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC), revealed this. This comes after a review of the latest data concerning consumer complaints that have been addressed and resolved in essential sectors of the Nigerian economy.
The statement reads in part: “The top ten sectors by number of complaints received between March and August 2025 were led by banking (3,173 complaints), followed by Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FCMG) (1,543), fintech (1,442), and electricity (458).
“Other notable sectors included e-commerce (412), telecommunications (409), retail/wholesale/shopping (329), aviation (243), information technology (131), and road transport and logistics (114).
“The total number of complaints resolved during the reporting period was 9091, while total recoveries for consumers exceeded N10 billion (Ten Billion Naira), reflecting both the scale of harm experienced and the significant financial burden borne by consumers in the absence of effective redress.”

Yesterday 7th September 2025 I join my brother hon barr Ismael chairman and CEO of cobblestone properties to lay the foundation of a landmark housing project at Tabarakallah Modern City,
Janguza.Tofa Local Government Area, Kano State.
The initiative under the Cooperative Housing Development Loan CHDL to develop 100 affordable housing solutions in our dear Kano state.
This was a dream that began long before now, but it became possible under the enabling environment created by @NGRPresident President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. The administration’s policies on financial inclusion, housing, and access to credit have made this milestone achievable.
This is proof that the government is opening doors for ordinary Nigerians, especially the youth, to dream bigger and to achieve more.
I therefore call on young people across the country,To take advantage of these opportunities. Engage with programs, apply for schemes, and believe in their potential. The Renewed Hope Agenda is about nigerians and for nigerians.Let us embrace it, and together, we can build a better Nigeria.
