@thedutchbloke You don’t lose your Dutch passport if you don’t tell your Dutch about your dual citizenship.
No citizenship, no vote. Simple as that! British people also don’t vote in the Netherlands if they’re not citizens.
@Boxy420@Vmartine1905 Fine, then the child can have a death of starvation and poverty rather than one where he gets hit by a car.
Bet you also thought grandma’s life is more important than the economy during covid…
@Vmartine1905@Boxy420 …yet. But hey, as long as fewer kids get hit, who cares about our economy and getting places faster. The more kids survive, the more people we have who can hopefully drive the horse carriage eventually.
@Vmartine1905 Yes…my parents always held my hand while walking down the street as kid and I wasn’t allowed to play on the street itself. It’s called common sense and parenting.
@Vmartine1905 How do you define a residential area? Plenty of LTNs now qualify as a full residential area…should all LTNs be 10mph?
Make parents 50% responsible if their kids run into the road and you’ll see how few accidents we have then. The street is not a playground.
@Vmartine1905@Boxy420 If you get 3 points normally, make it 9 if you speed outside a school for the existing 20 limit. Isn’t that better than making it 10?
@Vmartine1905@Boxy420 Schools have always had a reduced limit and people have mostly followed them. If you’re so passionate about safety, why not propose speed cameras get installed outside every school? Put 1 every 100m, and double/triple the penalty outside schools within hours.
@Boxy420@Vmartine1905 How long until you say well, there are also kids that go to shops with their parents, what if the kids runs out of Tesco into traffic?”. Your thought process of preventing victims of any kind is unhinged. We can’t/shouldn’t try to reduce accidents to 0.
@Boxy420@Vmartine1905 How long until you say the outcome is better at 5mph? Where does your cult end? Why do kids need to play outside where cars are? When will parents take any responsibility?
@c_gribbs It’s minimal, sure, if you don’t value every minute of your time. 3 miles at 10mph takes 20 minutes. 3 miles at 20mph takes 9 minutes. I value those 11 minutes of my life. And don’t tell me I average 10 anyway because I don’t. I average about 18-20 in 20mph.
@c_gribbs No normal 16 year old cares about politics, let alone voting.
Going 20mph isn’t “fast”, it’s just a little less painful. Speed limits should be at least 35mph on most roads so we can get places in an appropriate amount of time.
@francesca_kms My mum told me clearly I’m not allowed to cycle on a road until at least 16. Why do we need to build infrastructure (and screw everyone else) just so Jimmy can ride his bike to school? Why can’t his parents drive him like a normal kid?
@Mr_Fox_Maths Why do I care about how someone’s health is impacted by something they do? If they die, they die…and again, second hand smoke isn’t really a factor given you have to want to inhale smoke these days.
@Mr_Fox_Maths How long until your story changes to say “people that eat chocolate or drink coke get diabetes, so we should ban it to save the NHS”?
Of course smoking serves a purpose…it helps people relax just like any other vice. Why do people drink coffee, what purpose does that serve?
