The Jeffrey van Leeuwen Podcast aims to engage in thoughtful conversations with people who have unique stories to tell and valuable knowledge to share.
Hi everyone. We'll be putting the podcast on hold for now due to some developments on the personal front. There are still at least two episodes coming in the next few weeks and months that have already been planned or recorded, but that will be it for now. Onto the next chapter!
@mostrolenk It was a privilege having you on, Michael. Thank you for bringing so much insight and knowledge forward. I especially enjoyed your thoughts on mindfulness a lot. 🙏🏻
Our newest conversation is now live! 🚀 This week on the podcast, I sit down with @mostrolenk, a psychotherapist and human optimization coach known for blending somatic and transpersonal psychology with practical, everyday tools. We dive into what most of us get wrong about attention challenges, unpacking when an ADHD label helps, when it obscures the real issue, and how to make wiser, case-by-case decisions around medication.
We also explore how simple practices can transform focus and mood: breathwork sequences like box breathing, sleep hygiene that actually sticks, and quick movement resets you can do between tasks. Michael challenges conventional education models, illuminating how curiosity and autonomy thrive in environments that honor developmental needs, including approaches like learner-driven and democratic schooling.

Here is my conversation with Kristan Browne Swan. The episode moves organically through themes of nostalgia, self-awareness, curiosity, and spirituality, exploring how each plays a role in our perceptions of self and our courage to authentically engage with others.
This is a wonderful conversation that challenges assumptions about identity, vulnerability, and how to truly build trust.

Episode 37 of the podcast is now available, this time with the wonderful Dr. Alison Greco! 🚀
Dr. Alison Greco is a clinical psychologist who has journeyed from prison wards to community clinics, from UX research labs to founding Parathera. Across those landscapes she kept circling one question: what if ordinary heartbreak, grief and stress weren’t “disorders” at all?
In this intimate conversation she unpacks how insurance incentives, cultural “happiness-first” myths and thin social scripts push us to medicalize the normal aches of living. Greco argues that when we banish so-called “negative” feelings we trade clean pain for “dirty pain”; the guilt, shame and anger layered on top of un-felt sorrow. Her stories, from sitting with bereaved friends to guiding young adults beyond parental expectations, invite us to reclaim the full range of emotion as a gateway to connection, growth and meaning.
Thank you for listening! ❤️
