On Saturday there was:

a 3-HR game (Schwarber)
a 2-HR inning (Schwarber)
a walkoff HR (Albies)
a leadoff inside-the-park HR (McCarthy)

@RealManSports Annexing offsides would be a disaster. Tried it many years ago at U18 level. Both sides kept their defenders on the edge of the penalty box and played long ball only … completely eliminated the midfield. It was ugly.
Members of the Knicks front office partially credit James Dolan "getting distracted" by the Sphere for the team's success in recent years, according to team sources

"THE KOBE ASSIST".
In 2012, Kirk Goldsberry unveiled a unique statistical phenomenon where 15% of Kobe Bryant's missed shots led directly to points.
Kobe's perimeter gravity was so immense that his heavily contested shots regularly drew double and triple teams, leaving opposing defenses completely out of position to box out. In many instances, Kobe would deliberately attack a defense knowing his trailing big men possessed the rebounding advantage.
Goldsberry calculated that Kobe's team scored off 15% of his misses, meaning that a league leading 54% of his total shot attempts resulted in points.
Kobe Bryant didn't care about FG%.
Kobe Bryant cared about WINNING.
People blame SGA, but it's the incentives that drive the outcomes. I doubt he plans any of it. To succeed at the level he has, you have to let your instincts take over. He now just instinctively flops around any near-contact because his pre-conscious brain has already hard-wired in the reward. The refs and the league have to fix it, the player is just going where the food is.
One guy introduced the president, the other guy called out his own QB in a public forum. Team Good sportswriter re-posts one, accuses the other of "dividing the locker room."
I need to remember next time to fade a pitcher the start after he throws a no-hitter or a near no-hitter, especially if he extends his pitch count. Ginn tonight, Messick earlier this season.
