Ben Franklin’s rationale for supporting the Constitution: “because I expect no better and ... I am not sure that it is not the best.”
Not exactly a rave review — but also a disposition that has served the country well. ➡️ https://t.co/heKypNGKYl
Our work is not over. We must put the House on a new and better path.
In doing so we will lean heavily on the courage, insight and experience of the warriors you know & love - even if they weren’t part of the 8 who undertook the last mission.
People like @chiproytx@laurenboebert@RepScottPerry@ByronDonalds@AndyOgles@RepSpartz@CoryMillsFL@RepRalphNorman@RepDanBishop@RepThomasMassie and MANY MORE great conservatives are fighting for you every day.
The McCarthy Era is over. Let’s not dwell on it. Let’s move forward with a better Speaker.
And let’s keep winning.
Focus.
Every 2021 Republican backed city council candidate (MURPHY, Smith, Ciparro, Klonaris, Holt) performed better 42.5-44.5% than the perceived 2023 "center-right" candidates (Lawhorn & Talman combined 34.4%, Hill 36.9%, Rosson 37.7%). 2021 candidates were more conservative.
Evidence with conservative principles, better messaging holding incumbents accountable, team work, partisan labels, aggressive campaigning a more effective result is possible. City of Knoxville is about a 60% Democrat. 2021 candidates performed better. 2023 candidates worse.
Knox Republican Party has not posted on social media since February 17. The Democrats frequently post including get-out-the-vote for the recent city election. How can any of the 207 people who voted for the current chair be proud of their vote unless they are a RINO or liberal?
Trump's campaign has $24 & $47 suggested donation options on the website. How about a $91 suggested donation to represent each charge against him? More charges, more donations! @susie57 @JasonMillerinDC @TheStevenCheung @BrianTJackett @LaCivitaC
Compass Knox 9.1.23. A reason city mayor Kincannon waited until after the election to release her proposals to build multi-family units next to single family detached homes & why council candidate Marlow who pushed similar plans before the election lost by 39.3%. It is unpopular
If the current chair of the Knox County Republican Party cannot get a website finished or do 1 social media post in 6.5 months, what makes any elected official think the chair & his backers are capable to turnout Republicans to vote in elections?
Conservative-critic Brian Hornback, who happens to be a TN Republican State Executive Committeeman & sits on the Knox Republican Party (KCRP) executive committee is trying to get self-identified Democrat (see image) Bentley Marlow a $1,000 donation & in-kind support from KCRP.
Homeownership rate is down from its peak. Politicians are approving more developments for rentals. The people are paying more per square foot to live in less square footage & these lying politicians tell the people straight faced, "this is affordable housing."
The errors are so frequent with Ashe's columns & his analysis commentary so detached from reality that Knox News put a notice so people can correct his columns. I have not seen this notice for any other columnist or reporter at Knox News (despite all the errors & unreal wokism).
Example of Fake News headlines. WBIR, Knox News used biased headlines to suggest concerns to be used by some to promote more high density housing. If anyone reads the responses it was the opposite despite intended bias. Top concern 74% was traffic (lack of infrastructure).
In local elections & Republican primaries 75+% of voters are 50+. In survey they only represented 49%. The 50+ crowd in the survey was most concerned about high density & lack of infrastructure. Elected officials set policy & they are elected by voters not residents.
Slates in Knoxville city elections have existed since at least 2011 when The Public Trust PAC helped elect Rogero, Wallace, Stair, & Saunders. Leftist PACs & Democrats supported slates in 2023. A reason Republicans performed so poorly in this past election is lack of teamwork.
In today's political world when elections are Republican vs Democrat or even nonpartisan elections when the voter perception of the candidates is Right-of-center vs Left-of-center there will be a small spread between the slate candidates whether intended to or not.
In this past election the perceived center-right candidates for mayor received combined 34.5% of the vote, center-right candidate for city council seat C 37%, & center-right candidate for judge 37.5%. A 3-point spread which is even seen in explicit Republican vs Democrat races.
2021 city races the perceived center-right candidates spread was 42.5-44.5%, 2019 47.6-50.2%, 2017 40.9-42.3%. There are exceptions to the rule, 2023 Fugate was perceived as a RINO & supported all of Kincannon's agenda. 2019 Testerman ran against a self proclaimed queer Marxist.
Nationally the Republican Party is seeing more contested primaries (25% 2022) & more incumbents being challenged (31% 2022). Highest levels since Ballotpedia started started tracking. This reflects battle of ideas that is happening locally in Knox County & throughout Tennessee.
