@JoshPateCFB Bama was behind ND in the rankings for two weeks, with the “best win in the country” already on Bama’s resume. They flipped them after Bama beat Eastern Illinois and Auburn by 7. Those two wins were clearly more impressive than beating Syracuse by 63 and Stanford by 29.

The only other time it didn’t happen was 2017 TCU, the lost by 3 in OT.

@FrankieV_UHND So the whole argument that Bama “had the best win in the country” is a moot point. They had that two weeks ago and ND was still ahead of them. The 7 point win vs a 1-7 SEC team moved them ahead, and a 21 point blowout loss to UGA kept them ahead.

@FrankieV_UHND The committee had ND ahead of Bama after they’d already beaten UGA. So the committee was saying ND is the better team right now, even with the “best win in the country” on Bama’s resume. It’s not until a 7 point win vs Auburn that they move ahead.
