@HighHawkSeason @rileyrethaI @austin_walker@dongwon Unfortunately, I think they might be going in the direction of making Saw a movie-villain-anarchist, which is when you're nebulously more radical than everyone else in a way that's scary, but you don't have any distinct ideology or movement beyond a single charismatic leader
@rileyrethaI @austin_walker Generous interpretation: it's framed so we can sympathize with both characters in the scene. Like Saw, we want to know "what" Luthen is, and like Luthen, we want to see people come together to fight the Empire (rather than fall to infighting).
@rileyrethaI @austin_walker I fear that the intense/sinister shot of Saw asking "what are you?" suggests a painting of his idealism as an obsession with labels rather than genuine concern about what people are fighting for.
@rileyrethaI They really should be listening to her and I'm very glad they aren't. Like, you make Dedra the Director of the ISB and there won't be A New Hope. Evil ND Casandra.
@Richard_Kadrey@PatrickWeekes Big fan of the fact that this site has already been saved three times on Wayback Machine. (Which I know because I immediately went to save this link on Wayback Machine.)
@VVVisection@HTHRFLWRS Synthesizing these real quick:
Cards represent things. First's you; second's your goal. Throw deck. Each card's a year of your life. Choose actions. Interpret.

@lackingceremony Play takes place as a series of slice-of-life scenes in which two characters prepare together to face the coming apocalypse in giant robots. Players bid in a bluffing game, attempting to improve their opponent's Confidence so they'll get in the titular robot.
@lackingceremony Get in the Fucking Robot (in playtest) is a competitive RPG where player goals are the precise inverse of character goals; while the characters are all friends who try to help each other with mental health problems, the player objective is to keep your own character messed up.
@lackingceremony Similarly problematically, the question also implies that "king" and "queen" are opposite-gender equivalents of one another, which they certainly are not. No one ever had to specify that they were a "king regnant."
@OSPyoutube I was just thinking about this earlier this week. Fun fact: Measure for Measure does the same thing in reverse when Duke Vincentio shows up to the prison disguised as a monk in Act III.
@bad2sentence Good concept, but the clown costume is a hat on a hat that distracts from what should be the focus of the story. Would be clearer if the second sentence was "I hope I make a good first impression," especially if the first sentence also implied the speaker was in the other's house
@bigstuffedcat The important factor here is that Iβm playing against someone at my skill level, and my skill level doesnβt know anything about team comp, so just being able to pick brute force hard counters will give me a huge advantage.
@Avasraali@dantheshive I donβt know that this is true. I think we have come to accept some types of violence as easy to abstract in games, but that may be because such abstractions are so common. Thereβs nothing intrinsic about a lethal stabbing that makes it easier to map to LT then a rude remark
@MadRadhu I was about to say "Salt of the Earth" (1954), but then I remembered the only reason I even know about that movie is that everyone who made it got blacklisted.
@CSMFHT Counterpoint: this effectively gives the Greeks credit for something the North Macedonians did, and if there's one thing all the Balkan nations all want it's credit for each other's achievements. π¬π·π¬π·π¬π·
