@mellow63753@BreeSolstad Enjoy being your own Pope, and believing whatever doctrine makes you feel good this week. At least we have 2,000 of Church history AND scripture to guide us.
@mellow63753@BreeSolstad Nestorianism is a Christian theological doctrine emphasizing the distinct human & divine natures of Christ, suggesting they are 2 separate persons rather than 1 unified being. This belief was condemned as heresy by the ecumenical councils of Ephesus, 431 AD & Chalcedon, 451 AD.

@mellow63753@BreeSolstad Elizabeth means “Lord” as in “Lord God”. Mary is the Mother of God the Son (Theotokos). Do a search for the Greek word used for “Lord” (Κυρίου) in Luke 1:43 & you’ll see that same word used throughout the Bible to mean “God”. You are denying an ancient teaching of the Church.
@SK338357@mellow63753@BreeSolstad The New Testament didn’t exist as we know it until the 4th century (thanks to the Catholic Church). How could the early church adhere to Sola Scriptura for the first 350 years when there was no New Testament?
@mellow63753@BreeSolstad What you’re saying is that God the Father created Jesus the Son.That’s a heresy called Arianism.God the Father & God the Son are one & the same.Jesus is “Consubstantial w/the Father.God from God,Light from Light,True God from True God,begotten not made, one in being w/the Father.”
@mellow63753@BreeSolstad Even Elizabeth called her the “Mother of my Lord”. The early Church referred to her as “Theotokos” or “God-bearer”. Your concept that she only birthed the human Jesus is an ancient heresy called Nestorianism that has been defeated many times over the last 2,000 years.
@Crabbypatty100@mickherenow@MrCasey62 “In the ark a few people, only eight souls, were saved through water. And this water symbolizes the baptism that now saves you also—not the removal of dirt from the body, but the pledge of a clear conscience toward God—through the resurrection of Jesus Christ…” 1 Peter 3:20-21
@Crabbypatty100@MrCasey62 Because that is what Christ asked us to do. And that is what the early church did. Christ’s forgiveness isn’t automatic. We need to be sorry for our sins, repent, change our lives and follow Christ. The Bible is clear on that.
