The owner of the house that collapsed at Tarkwa Aboso due to galamsey activities, nearly killing five occupants of the building, speaks.
According to the elderly man, the incident occurred following a powerful blast at an adjacent galamsey site. He clarified that the collapsed building was a bungalow previously owned by Gold Fields. After the company moved away, he bought the property, only for galamseyers to tunnel beneath it, severely weakening the foundation and leading to the collapse after the blast.

And beyond the immediate appeal, may we also reflect. No one battling for their life should have to rely on public charity to survive. I look forward to the day our health system can carry this burden so families don’t have to.
It’s heartbreaking. But together, we can lighten it — even if just a little.
