Though no one knows the heart nor the limit to God’s abundant grace, theology (more specifically soteriology) matters. There are real reasons why Protestants (including Evangelicals) and Rome are not in communion. I probably wouldn’t have asked this question since it puts us in God’s judgement seat where we don’t belong. However, we can judge theology. It appears to me that the question behind the question is: Can one go to heaven while denying Faith alone in Christ alone?

I have more respect for those refusing to answer than those who would take on such a label and give you this result. I’m not looking to add fuel to a fire, I’m just calling a spade a spade. We can all still be friends, but, according to Roman Catholic and Protestant theology, we can’t all be brothers. Why is this so controversial? Better question: Why don’t “convictional” anything’s know this?

Yeah, I got triggered with this result. It reminds me of the Broadway Hamilton line, “If you stand for nothing, Burr, what’ll you fall for?” I wouldn’t answer this poll because I don’t like the question. But to have this result from professing evangelicals is alarming. Last I saw, there were 114 votes. Maybe it’s not a large enough sample to be indicative of anything significant. Yet I’m left wondering— what is being taught in churches today?
